Sandfort

Slow... and low. That is the tempo ;)

Release point is out in front as well. Pushes from chest instead of shooting above head.
It starts at his chest then he releases it over his head, so the release point isn't really low. But he starts low then hoists it up. And he's slow about it, kind of like his quirky drives. I don't mind the drives so much because he is harder to time for defending, but for a standing jump shot, that just won't cut it!

Sandfort playing well with two makes and two beautiful assists. He’s a confident player when he makes his first. Look for a big second half.

Another good game for Payton. Showed a leftie dribble drive, head fake one dripple jumper and the three bombs. A good pass which should have been an assist, only seemed to get burned once on defense. Showed enthusiasm on D and good court awareness. Kid earned a special mention amidst the overall Hawk greatness of today.

Hes got that blend of size, skill, IQ and competitiveness where athleticism isn't as important.

I love watching this kid play ball.

Payton's success at Iowa has to give us a huge advantage in recruiting Pryce who looks to have an even higher ceiling. This family thing could be really something for Iowa.
