I'll start: their D wasn't too bad, pretty good

Good stuff. That shot of NE fans trying to open their candy wrappers was absolutely classic.

I was lmao watching that. I kept waiting for the announcers to say something because of the extended coverage of the Nebraska fans' frustration. "Me want eat. Why no open? Grrrr. Huh? Tommy throw 'nother INT? Urrrrrrgh. Time go home and eat cornflakes."

The costumes were perfect, too. A storm trooper, Darth Vader, and a monkey, all in a row, trying to open their candy wrappers. Priceless!

Their fans constantly demonstrate memories of things that will never happen again. They have even commemorated it with the "N" on their helmets......N=never again.

Baaah, I watched the whole game, but I didn't notice the candy wrapper thing. Link anyone?

lol, you're right, it was hysterical. They were all so serious about it, too. The one guy was consulting with a girl, maybe his girlfriend, about how to open it. I felt like I was watching a lab experiment with chimpanzees. ... I'm still laughing about it. :)

Damn, I wish I would have seen it!!!

Their stadium looks like the king of all KMarts, till they zoomed in and I noticed it was a N. I have nothing else to add except GO HAWKS!

I tried a search for it, but couldn't find anything. However, I've noticed in recent weeks that on Thursdays there are YouTube vids of the previous week's Iowa games. They usually cut out the commercials and dead air time, though, so I don't know if the candy-wrapper frustrations will be in there. It was damn funny, though. Sorry you missed it, but seeing the Hawks win was far more important anyway, right? :)

I liked all the snazzy Husker gear they got from their local Shopko. They looked sharp on TV today, but not as sharp as all those gay ass balloons they released every time Tommie threw an interception!

Thanks for graciously joining the BigTen and providing some nice filler games for everyone.

Don't care for teams that take numerous dirty shots trying to hurt, seriously, other players...especially the Hawkeyes. Thugs...losers.

That said, they are a pretty good 7 loss team...glad to beat them. Stop run, invite Armstrong to pass...which he can't do...take your pick.

Their med staff were all about helping the hurt Iowa players.

I agree, when Smith got nailed one of their coaches was very concerned and ran over immediately. I have a lot of respect for that and I hope our sideline would do the same.

I thought their defense was pretty tough. They stuffed the run a lot early and the pass cover was pretty tight. Not allowing a 3rd down conversion against the Hawks is impressive. I also thought their OL looked pretty good. They got a good push on a lot of short yardage plays. Blew my mind they threw a fade route on 4th and 1 instead of running it after having success doing it.

I think Nebraska has gotten a rude awakening in general since joining the B1G where you better be really good/fundamentally sound and any given Saturday someone can take you down.

They simply need to stop with the history bit and work harder/smarter. Gone are the days of the Big 8 where there were many historically bad programs to run over; K State, Kansas, ISU. Missouri was really bad for a long time. Colorado was bad prior to McCartney. OK State was not great. You had in most years an easy 5+ wins conference season and an easy non-con. A season came down to one game - beating Oklahoma or not.

Today's landscape is totally different. There are actually more resources available even to bad programs via the TV contract revenue and more programs think they can be good despite their challenges. Everyone is on TV. Everyone has facilities, stadium upgrades, video boards, etc. There is fierce competition for players nationwide. Kids have more decent options to stay close to home in higher population areas if they want to. Kids are less patient and want to play right away so depth is tough to build. There are way too many bowls games so that's not a lure by itself any more to attract kids.

The baffling thing to me is the B1G is setup perfectly for the type of program Nebraska used to be (smash mouth-power football-tough D) but they keep trying to be a West Coast/Spread/Passing out fit?
