The schedule for Iowa Wrestling wrestle offs has been announced. For the first time in years, Iowa will have wrestle offs like the past that will have some outstanding matchups. I have the schedule for now and I will get the matchups for each weight class as soon as I can. If you are anywhere near Iowa City, Iowa Wrestling wrestle offs are very exciting to watch. With all of the open weights this year, this will be one of the best wrestle offs in Iowa Wrestling history.

Iowa Wrestling wrestling offs in the Iowa Wrestling room:

Friday at 3:30 PM

Saturday at 10 AM

The Iowa Wrestling Coaches Clinic will be held after wrestle offs on Friday. The Iowa - Ohio State football game is at 2:30 PM on Saturday.

Hope to see you there.

It is great to be an Iowa Wrestling fan.

I am now up on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/IowaWrestlingFan/

Todd-
I am registered for the Coaches Clinic, but the flyer says that the clinic is on Friday at 5:00. Are they still planning on starting it around then?

What are some of the top matchups people are expecting? Below are the matchups I'd like to see, but no idea if they're happening.

141 - 3 man with Turk, Happel, Murin
149 - Lugo/Sorensen
174 - Young/Gunther
197 - Warner/Wilke

50% or better that Murin wrestles at 133. Will be 1-1.5 hr weigh ins with maybe .5 lb allowance.

I like the sounds of this. Very interested to hear the results 133, 141 and 174. I haven’t been in the room like some others but how has the competition been between Gunther/Young and Happel/Turk?

Doubt we see any true freshman go. Have heard no Spencer (obviously) and no on Warner/Costello.

I'll be there all three days. . . in spirit. Imagine me sitting next to you, sharing great wrestling wisdom. I'll, in fact, be busting my butt in the office, full of envy for you lucky saps that get to go watch the Hawks wrestle off.

Meyer will be at 141

Depends on his weight tomorrow is what I have heard. Plan as of Monday was 133.
In your opinion, do you think Murin will only be able to make 133 this year, or could he potentially be at 133 for another year or two before moving up to 141?

I would love to go to this. Could someone politely ask Tom to schedule this around the best bow hunting time for next year? Thanks in advance

If he could, I’m sure he would haha. I just moved to Colorado and can’t wait to try my luck bow hunting an elk next year but nothing beats corn fed Iowa deer.

Lax, you know what any of our opinions mean on here but if he does it correctly and is serious about it during the off season he could do it longer. Assuming he doesn’t grow more of course. In season weight management is one thing but during the summer is something entirely different.

Yay. I may get my wish to see Murin and Glynn at 33, and Duggan at 41. Not saying any of those guys is the answer, but great to see them vying at weights where they have a chance to make some noise.

Those are a posters ideas not the actual pairings.
