If what he says in there is true, then it really throws a different light on TnT. I have always felt that they would do anything for their athletes, but if that only means they will do it as long as they are a Hawk, it is rather small of them. Again, does anyone know if this stuff is true?

Ramos was asked to leave once the men started practicing which is fair and he didn’t raise a fuss. I’m not on Twitter and wouldn’t look at Mineo stuff anyways, but I believe the only person of relevance that’s giving this any credence is Gilman who is a coach at one of Iowa’s biggest rivals and is hard recruiting some of the same people that Iowa is. He wants to paint Iowa in such a bad light that recruits don’t come here. Mineo and Gilman are getting desperate because of the leanings of some recruits

Zero seems like a stretch. Even the most ardent anti-Iowa person would have to admit they had some responsibility for Lee being injured; without that TG probably doesnt even make the team.


(side note, this dig at Pat wasn't worth reliving the trauma of remembering that without Covid cancelling 2020, Iowa would have another team title, there are about 5 guys who had a chance for an individual title, Lee would be a 4 timer and quite possibly two time gold medalist... 😡🤢)

Tony Ramos is a NCAA coach…. Legally, under the current NCAA rules, he cannot contact athletes. He did it anyway. Our staff has never made illegal contact with an athlete.

That wasn't what anyone is saying.

It is an NCAA violation for coaches to directly contact wrestlers on an existing team who are not in the portal.

It is not an NCAA violation for a booster to do the same thing.

That's an important difference. So you can cut the claim about something being "illegal."

Do I think this is dumb? Absolutely. The whole thing is ridiculous. But it is the environment we live in right now.

I find it slightly ironic Iowa complaining about OkState while tampering with ASU wrestlers. If Iowa is going to tamper with ASU, it is a little disingenuous to complain if a team contacts one of their guys. You are a riot Spooner.

I've had him on ignore since his 2nd or 3rd post ever. I'm not even tempted to check on what he's saying, like I sometimes do when people respond to posters I have on ignore.

And we've also had a guy that didn't AA as a senior because of one. As someone who has one and never got it repaired, I can tell you it's no joke. My senior year of HS I tore mine in January and went from 13-1 to 16-5-2 to end my season. And if you don't do anything about them you regret it in your 50s and 60s.
