SEC fines Kentucky $100,000 for fans rushing field

I'd say it was worth it, IMHO. Big win for Kentucky to go 4-0 and make the AP poll for the first time in eleven years. Makes sense the fans wanted to celebrate.

I get that SEC has this rule about not rushing the field/court, but I guess I missed the reason why. Is it to protect the field/court? Is it a safety issue? Sportsmanship?

But, I would hate to see it taken out of the game. It's fun to see, and I'm sure it's a blast to be part of it.

This is the first time Duke and Kentucky have been ranked in the same football AP poll since the Sept. 14, 1957 poll.

They have been ranked in the same basketball AP poll 547 teams in that span.

I would guess it is because football fans down there are crazy AF and make me fear for the future of humanity. But that is just my guess.
