*****Selection Sunday Mens thread*****

I'm curious about the talk regarding 4 seed, and if the committee would have a version waiting for the results to seed us the high if winning today. But expecting a 5 or 6, and an "unfairly" tough first game either way. Hoping that the younger committee members who are supposedly using predictive metrics more and more have already slotted Iowa higher than what we anticipate. Because in a way, those predictive metrics were confirmed so far this week.

About where I'm at. A win last Sunday at Illinois definitely would have opened the door to the 4. Still think an outside shot at it with an impressive won today. And yes 12 seed like a South Dakota St would be very scary.

I hope we steal Providence's 4 spot 🤣

Not worried about South Dakota state.. they’re a poor man’s at Iowa at every position

They'll be a trendy 12 upset pick for sure.
Trendy alright but a couple things. Name one position they’re better than Iowa at and then the summit league was down pretty bad this year. They can score it but this isn’t an SDSU of 3-5 years ago.

Some truth to your comments, but they’re also disciplined and know how to win. That’s extremely valuable come March.

Thought the below article was interesting. Outlines a team's NCAA tourney success based on how successful they are in their conference tournaments.

From past history, a team making at least the semis is a good sign to make it to 2nd weekend (and beyond). Sometimes a winner means an early exit. Of course nothing is a given with March Madness
