******Northwestern at IOWA Game Thread******

No doubt. Was hoping to see Koch continue to develop. The few minutes Tadjo played he looks even more lost then Dembele. We go small and you have PS at the 4 getting abused on the glass and backed down in the paint. We need a Tyler Cook type enforcer at that 4 spot. Hell just give me a Greg Brunner or James Winters...
Tyler Cook had the physical ability to be an enforcer, but how often was he an enforcer?

A few thoughts:

*Dembele should never see the floor. Hurry back Traore
*Brock is the man
*Owen is the man
*Dix is the man

I about hit my head on the ceiling when that shot went in.

You all forget he was injured all summer? He’s still not back in ball condition yet.
I am talking about the team as a whole. Under Fran, Iowa has really never had a team that is filled with guys that have any thickness to them. Fran likes long and lean players. The amount of muscle Nunge gained in less than a year at Xavier was pretty impressive.

If I had been the NW coach last night, I would also have been whining. Hawks got a LOT of touch fouls calls on NW, even if they didn't take full advantage of them.
Not gonna lie, but I agree.

Despite Little Larry being one of the refs, I thought it was pretty even or actually slanted Iowa's way most of the night. Like you said, if Iowa takes advantage of the opportunities provided by some of those calls (ie, FTs), Hawks just about win going away.

But its hard to feel too bad for Collins. Not too many times I've felt Iowa got the benefit of the doubt on quite a few calls during a game like that.

Lot of home cooking in B1G games, although some teams seem to get more than others (see MSU). Last night, I thought Iowa got a pretty big helping.

Yep, but last night, Owen was maybe the softest player on the court. Iowa can't have that going forward.
That's Fran coaching him not to foul. Now he needs to quit going for steals 30ft from the basket... I'm more concerned with Ladji's lack of physicality. He's a man child and needs to push people around, be an enforcer & make them pay for going into the paint.

Sorry Mohawkeye but I disagree. We're a quarter into the season & he's a young man. How many practices & conditioning days does he need to get in "game shape". He beat the defense down the floor a couple of times, so I believe his cardio is there. And I still haven't heard what this mystery summer injury was.

I was speaking more to his muscle mass. Although we don’t know the nature of his medical problems, or how they might still be impacting him.
