I do think it was a takedown. I think they ended up getting it right. You could argue reaction time, but he had the legs and hips covered. I’d rather error on the side of offense.
But yes your point remains. Bit of a clown show at the end.

What does it take for team points to get taken away? If the Brands’ acted the way the Nebraska coaches did you could certainly expect it.
I've seen a few times where side coaches charge the mat and an official will be talking to 3 or 4 coaches even for a team arguing with them. Seen ohio state and Nebraska do it repeatedly. Not a word from the officials about mat control.

Not a horrible day, just not an uplifting day. Lost 4 upsets, won none. Went 0-3 in SV matches (2 by Teemer). At least 3 guys will finish below seed. It wasn't a meltdown, just a few disappointing performances. Let's see how tomorrow goes, but finishing below Nebraska stings.

Well said. Teemer gets a pass as he is about as far from healthy as you could be and unfortunately 12 days aren't going to heal him up. Cruz and Schriever were disappointing, but realistically they weren't scoring more than 3 or 4 points combined at NCAAs. Parco is still top 5 imo, and PK and Gabe can both still get 3rd tomorrow if they wrestle well. BK will outwrestle his seed at the very least. Drake and Buchanan continue to look great. Hope MC lets it fly against Mess and goes for broke.
It no longer has the bandwidth during tournament time. It has gotten wonkier and wonkier every year as more people hit the site up.
Can't count on these Nits for anything. 😉 That's fair, it was a good resource, but there are plenty of ways to get the same info with a bit of effort. Patience is the tricky part for us junkies.

sure today didn’t go all that great but on the other hand we got to watch beau bartlett lose, so things are looking up.
There was only really 1 “bad” loss and that was Cruz losing to Weiand. It was bittersweet as I gotta take the small wins for MSU and I knew his Uncle Keith pretty well back in the day. My good buddy used to have some really good matches with him.
After that, Schriever did as expected.
How Parco lost sucked, but who he lost to certainly wasn’t a bad loss.
Even without the injuries Teemer lost to the 5 and 1 seeds. Not terrible.
Kennedy wrestled Haines pretty tough.
Arnold lost a 50/50 matchup.
Kueter lost to a guy that is simply that much better than him.
I would have liked to see Parco keep that streak alive, but I would also rather him lose to him now instead of two weeks from now. Other than that, maybe Arnold, but 3rd was the best he was going to get and he can still do that and avenge the loss in the process.
A healthy Teemer and they are right with Nebraska now and would pull away tomorrow. But, that isn’t the case and they will need a LOT to go right to pass them…

Good post. I think that strategy against MM is the opposite of what should be done. You need to be more defensive minded to beat MM. Letting it fly plays into his wheelhouse imo.
