Session IV Thread

And he did it all by being a scoring machine.

I didn't say he wasn't a good wrestler, Spooner. I pointed out that he lacked offense ,four years later, he still lacks offense. It's a shame because he is otherwise a very smart and tough wrestler.

PSU very proud of their coach and team that can coach up the #1 high school wrestler to beat our mid level recruit by 1-2 points and then come to insult our wrestlers and poor coaching. o_O Umm, OK. Welcome to ignore.

Is Nickal in the dental program by any chance?

My bad and thank god Mega is done, sport killing style.
The point remains, you claimed nolf and nickal are nothing compared to Ruth and Taylor, and I simply think you're wrong. Do you think they'll combine for 5 or more individual titles before they're done or not?
Again, the point of my original post must be going over your head if this is your continued response.

PSU,,, I hope you are humbled soon. You talk so much crap but Iowa was not the team red shirting some of our best wrestlers last year to avoid other wrestlers or to set up this year better. Makes me think your mascot should be more of a pussy cat. I also love your keyboard muscles so many of you have.
This post can't be hammered home enough. Megaturd dodging Stallgado and Retherford dodging Streebler. 100% chicken sh*t no matter how they want to spin it. I'm guessing Megaturd wishes he had wrestled last year since Stallgado was hurt and he might have had a chance at an individual title. Of course 2nd place isn't bad even if he only faced garbage wrestlers until the finals.

It's little early in the morning for drunk posting, isn't it?

whats with all the mega hate ,kids been to the finals what 3 times. I have never heard anything disrespectful out of him.his wrestling style? glass houses guys. gman will take care of business, no reason to call names.

I can't hate on PSU, but with the Abounader deal, I feel it is just fine to continue to drink all the way through tomorrow am. I do think Mega, Nolf, and Mac, have a tough road to the top. Besides, it does not matter where you are sitting in the Garden, Penn St. fans are thick as ticks. Drinking and plugging my ears all the while yelling LaLaLa very loud seems to help.

Agree. I've never had any problem with Nico, either. I do think Askren was right about how busy he looks without really initiating any offense against quality opponents. However, when the top guys go at it, nobody is initiating a ton of offense, because everyone's defense and counter offense is so good. Nico was very much the aggressor against Terau last night, and Terau was on fire this tournament. Granted, he was only a #15 seed. Nico has benefited from an extremely easy path.

I think Nico earned his reputation when he did nothing but tie up and block off to keep it close with McD, who still beat him every time they met, anyway. No doubt he stalled like crazy against McD in the hope that he might steal a late score or win in the ride-outs. That kind of stalling tends to evoke a very hostile reaction from Iowa fans, because we've been conditioned over the decades to abhor stalling after watching countless guys from ISU and Okie State, primarily, wrestle the edge on us, block off all match hoping to win on a late score, etc. If Nico hadn't stalled out every match with McD, I doubt some Iowa fans would view him as they do. Plus, he's from PSU, which magnifies the reaction from some Iowa fans. He's an excellent wrestler. That said, Thomas was right there last time and I hope like heck he gets it done tonight.

So that ref in Brooks' match essentially cost us 3 team points. It was a great night for Iowa last night, yet still sad to hear that there's a possibility of getting 4th. Yuck.

With that said, we have so many more points coming next year: Gilman and Clark will continue their thing, Carton or Turk will score something at 141, Sorensen will continue his thing. Kem will be AA, AM will be AA, Meyer and Brooks will be the same if not better, and Stoll is going to AA. The only dip we will see will be at 197, and that will be made up and then some by the other new additions. Things are looking up!

glad i'm not the only one who's confused. and apparently he's not interested in further discussion on the matter because it seems i'm being ignored. wish he had just ignored me in the first place, but i guess the truth hurts.

recruiting top wrestlers can help. but recruiting isn't everything. just ask mike evans and nick moore. i think we can all agree that coaching and development are kind of important. Burak is a fine wrestler and a heck of a tough kid, but any Iowa fan who has watched him over the years knows he lacks offense.

but then again, apparently i'm a PSU fan- a PSU fan who's been an HR member for 15 years.o_O

He may lack elite offense but we've gotten more than we deserve out of Burak
What does this even mean? That Burak somehow doesn't deserve what he's earned on the mat? The kid is a 3x AA, and he and Iowa have earned and deserve every bit of what he and Iowa have achieved through his wrestling.

Typical all talk no show don't worry about my rent ,money would use your 100 for a nice steak and lobster meal with a sweet lady :)
You are welcome for not taking your money, now go and use "your 100 for a nice steak and lobster meal with a sweet lady :)"
