Session IV Thread

someone mentioned this a ways back to yesterday, but the Hawks would be sitting pretty had Sam been able to wrestle. I think he was good for 10 maybe 12 points. That would make things a bit closer. Even Penn St. couldn't have a guy get hurt and be where they are now. Give the Hawks Sam's points and take the same amount of points a injury would cause any of the top 4 or 5 to lose and and see what would happen to them. Injuries. Always seems to hit the Hawks at the worse time possible.
I really can't believe the Hawks are even in this shape. 3 finalists, Meyer won, Brooks won, and who knows. This is a heck of a lot of points for a team that didn't get any points from 141, 165, 1 win at 157, and Sam. I think they are peaking, for the most part, at just the right time. Kudos to the coaching staff. AlLL of 'em

2nd period coming to a close, brooks had him pinned , 11-6 , abounader with escape to start 3rd

I think theyve had 2 damn good championship meets & they aint done. Missing solid guys at 2 more weights, & we aren't as bad off as all the haters say we are.

Bias but I think if I were school out there I'd be putting out feelers to get him as a coach

How do you get ref at this level and mis that!
Cost Iowa a team point and bonus points.

What garbage referee in Brooks match. Instead of kicking out the fan, should have kicked the junior high ref out.

Yeah, ends up being a 3 point swing. We aren't catching Penn State anyway, so I'm fine with Brands and Morningstar going nuts. Absolutely ridiculous gaffe be the officials

How the heck did I miss the Brooks match? Could not find it for the life of me on the app. Anyone care to summarize what happened?

Can somebody explain what happened in Brooks' match for those of us who didn't see the match.

Only time will tell. They have 2 freshman dominating at 2 garbage weight classes (157/174). Those 2 are nothing compared to Ruth and Taylor. They might be putting up points like those 2 but look at the competition they are doing it against. It's all relative. We'll see what happens in the next few years with guys moving around weight classes and new players entering the game.

They may not be those guys but they are damn good and will only get better. By the time they are seniors they may be those guys.

Brooks had double unders and threw Abounder to his back...looked to be a pin and the ref blew the whistle thinking it was illegal or something while Sammy was working for the fall. It wasn't...I think the Michigan coach pressured him into blowing the whistle

In bounds, plenty of time, just a matter of time before the stick.
Dick wad ref blows the whistle and calls illegal headlock. False. Brands goes nuts. Team point deduction
