Lost to Heil 5-3 in the finals of B12. Read he was in on a shot late to tie it. Qualified himself for nationals. B12 is a joke compared to the BIG10 but his results makes a guy wonder..

And Gross hammered Carton who beat Turk so who cares.

Gross has turned it on the second half of the year. He beat a very good Bryce Meredith(I think ranked around 12)in the semis to get to the finals.

There's nothing the Iowa coaches could have done here. They had to give him his walking papers.

I'm glad he's doing well. He's a keep-it-close kind of guy, never beaten anyone in the top 20. If he were still wrestling for Iowa he might have scratched his way to an NCAA appearance. Then what? I'd rather have his scholarship money to help land a difference maker.

Just beat #12 Bryce Meredith.

I hold more stock in Turks head to head win over Gross than his 8-7 Head to head loss with Carton, who he most likely wrestled a ton in the practice room. Sorensen lost to Grothus last year as well, but we all see how much better he is at 149.

Eh to each their own. Those early tournaments can be tricky, just like sorenson's loss to Grothus. I'm in no way a huge supporter of Gross. I've never thought that his style would translate well to college. I'm just stating he's turned it up a notch and is seeing some pretty good results.

Seth Gross is ranked 19th in Intermat. Tarp, he has beaten a few top 20 ranked guys. He beat Meredith at Big12 who I think at one time was in the top 10. He beat Barnes last year who has been ranked at 157 this year (19th on Intermat). He beat Nickell this year and Ervin last year--and I think each may have been briefly ranked. He was in position to beat Heil at the end of the Big 12 Finals and didn't get the call he needed where he looked like he may have had a takedown at the end.

Who cares? I guess I do. I didn't think then and I don't think now that Gross is the second coming of Logan Stieber. I'm glad he's making improvement, I don't wish ill of him,and I hope he's got his life on a good path. But I do think Turk has a higher ceiling. Just one person's view.

I meant that in a sarcastic way. Meaning-Sorenson lost early last year to Grothus and Gross lost early this year to Turk. I was replying to multiple posts in one. My bad
