I think we finish over .500 but well out of the lead. Probably somewhere from 3rd to 5th in the conference. I think we end up with a 4 or 5 seed and win 1 or 2 games in the tournament. Ceiling probably around the Elite 8, with a puncher's chance at Final 4 if we happen to shoot lights out, but highly unlikely IMO.

Would, indeed, be fun to see how this thread aged after a few months.

If you really thought they were going to win the regular season league title, then this loss put a damper on that.
Since I had them pegged more like 3rd to 4th in the league it's disappointing but not a big deal.
They're going to lose more games. But I still think they can finish over .500. 11-13 wins seems reasonable.
Then if they can have a decent B1G tourney for a change, they can still be set up for a decent seed and have a shot at the sweet 16.

The first Big Ten basketball game of the week I watched was an Iowa team with Don Nelson as the star player. In my 50+ years of watching I have watched hundreds of BIG games. My point, which obviously escaped you, was that if we lose the next two games our record would be 1-3. Our hopes for winning the conference championship would be very dim.

Who's goal? I don't think it's the team's goal or most of the fan base. The goal is a final four / championship. An expectation and a goal are not the same thing.

Mine. Even if Iowa gets a 2 seed, if seeding holds true, they could end up playing a very hot team like Arkansas or an Uber athletic FSU in the Sweet 16. Iowa would be favored in either game but no one would be shocked if they lost.
