I don't think you will have much issue with gartner snakes. Sounds like well on the way to having them completely gone. So there was a nest or two in a garage wall, big deal. Ive had rabbits in the yard, wasps. I have had raccoons, possums, something I have no clue what it was and a mole get into my window well and ample mice that had nested in the window frame of the window well. This is the joys of being a home owner.

They're harmless. Block off access and move on with your life.
On the positive side...no mice.
