Model sues Hill
A model and social media influencer is suing Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, alleging he broke her leg during a football lesson at his home last June.
Sophie Hall, a model with more than two million Instagram followers, alleges in the lawsuit that Hill “forcefully and purposefully shoved” Hall after she “humiliated” and “enraged” him by knocking him backward during a football blocking drill. Hall filed the civil lawsuit on Feb. 23 in Broward County, Fla., alleging battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence and seeking “damages in excess of $50,000.”
Hall, 35, suffered a fractured leg and had to undergo surgery with “orthopedic reconstruction and hardware implantation,” according to the lawsuit.
The lawsuit alleges that Hill, 29, invited Hall to his house in Broward County after Hall enrolled her 10-year-old son in the “Tyreek Hill Football Camp.” After her son attended the camp, Hill paid for Hall’s travel arrangements to spend several days at his house, according to the lawsuit.
On her first day there, Hill was training on his turf field when he invited Hall to participate in some offensive line drills with him, according to the lawsuit.
Hill asked Hall “to stand in a defensive line stance while he stood opposite her in an offensive lineman stance, ‘hiked’ the ball to the quarterback, and told her to rush him as if she wanted to chase the quarterback,” Hall’s attorneys wrote in the lawsuit.
Upon rushing Hill, Hall — who lists herself as 6-foot-1 on her Instagram page — pushed Hill backward and drew laughs from onlookers, including Hill’s mother, sister, friend and trainer, according to the lawsuit, which alleges Hill became “embarrassed” and “angry.”
Hill called for the two to set up another play, this time with Hall as the offensive lineman. However, a small puppy disrupted the play. On the third play, Hall “held her own,” according to the lawsuit. But on the fourth play, “Hill charged into her violently and with great force, resulting in significant and serious injuries,” the lawsuit alleges.
After the play, Hall alleges that Hill downplayed her injury and secured travel arrangements for her a couple of days later. She was diagnosed with a broken leg shortly after returning home.
Hill, who signed a four-year, $120 million deal with Miami in 2022, has faced legal trouble previously. In 2015, he pleaded guilty to domestic violence charges stemming from a 2014 incident while he attended Oklahoma State University. In 2019, police in Kansas investigated Hill for potential child abuse but did not file charges. In 2023, he reached a settlement with a marina employee after allegations that he hit the employee during a dispute.
