Shocked we aren’t ranked?

Regarding the original question, let's see if we can sustain an at least average Offense from game to game.

How long of a time frame we talking about here? I think they can have more than 9 wins in the regular season. Go back 20 years, Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Missouri were replaced with Arizona, Arizona St, Utah, BYU, Cincinatti, Central Florida, Houston.

I like their chances a lot better now, especially since recently they have been close to the ceiling you’ve set for them. They’ve upgraded facilities, I’m not sure their fan base has been larger, they have name recognition with as many guys as they have succeeding in the NFL.

I would say their trajectory is trending positive.
I hope they upgraded their fan base as well as that needs a lot of work

If Iowa State makes the expanded playoffs before Iowa this board will be……..something
Odds are they will. Imagine the gauntlet Iowa would have to run to make a playoff any given year. At least two of Oregon USC Michigan Ohio St and Penn St and not stub toe against a lesser foe.

Now imagine Iowa state. They would have to beat Utah and Kansas St.

Not sure iowa deserves to be ranked quite yet but I’m very puzzled by Notre Dame at 16 with a loss to a northern illinois team that just got beat by buffalo. Sure, they have one quality win against texas A&M but 16?! Feels like they’re just going to be an auto playoff team regardless

Except Iowa only plays one of those teams you listed this year. Iowa State was your 2nd toughest game of the year and you lost at home.

Do you think Iowa could get a more favorable schedule? We play only 1 of the Big 4 schools this year. Iowa State was arguably our 2nd toughest opponent and we couldn’t put the ball in the end zone from two yards out……twice.
