Should Iowa have held out certain injured players?

It was painfully obvious that Canzeri and Lomax were not 100%. I get that they want to be out there helping Iowa win, they have battled and shown heart all year. However, at some point you have to ask the question of whether or not they were too injured to be out there? It was obvious that Canzeri didn't have the same speed as he did pre-MSU injury. Lomax also looked a little hobbled as well. I am not saying it would've made a difference, but it may have to have more healthy speed out there.

The Lomax injury was very big. In Lincoln, even though we have up a lot of yards, Lomax and Taylor were highly visible, extremely active, and flying all over the field. In the Rose Bowl, honestly I didn't notice either of them. They were very quiet. For that matter Josey was quiet too. We had no chance of winning without those guys being incredibly active and flying around the field. Josey is without question an NFL linebacker but he definitely found some areas he can improve on after that game.

We don't know the extend of the injuries. I'd leave it up to the staff and players like always. Our job is second guess them but I'm not going to second guess in this case. I believe they did what they felt was best.
