SIAP - Anton Narinskiy

Yep. Ol' Doodle remembers him well. He never really developed into an all-world football player, but he saw action and was decent. But the narrative on him was always how smart he was. If Doodle remembers correctly, he already had several business ventures in the works while he was still a student at Iowa and the expectation was that he would go on to be a big success.

He and Drew Tate do the Iowa Huddlepass podcast. The podcast is ok, kinda neat to get a player's vantage point of the game. They usually have another former player on as a guest, they've had Mitch King, Matt Kroul, and Adam Shada.

On the most recent podcast, they talked about what offers they had coming out of high school. Narinsky's list was Stanford, Northwestern and a bunch of other top schools. He received an Accounting bachelors and masters from Iowa and worked for Ernst and Young for a few years before going to Hollywood.

I recommend subscribing to the podcast.

Here he is in that Robin Williams Snickers commercial

I would love to like the Iowa HuddlePass podcast, bit I just can't. It's quite juvenile, and neither of the hosts act like they even watch the games, especially Tate ("I saw a few highlights...").

I loved them as Hawkeye football players, but to call the podcast pedestrian would be overselling it.

I'm probably just old.

I agree, while it's refreshing to hear from former players talk about how things were during their playing days, the podcast as a whole is disjointed and unorganized. And the hosts rarely have any in depth analysis for any of the Iowa games.

Judging from his IMDB page he's actually doing pretty well for himself.

No you're right.. Drew Tate has no idea what has ever happened in any game and just kind of seems like he's on for a name.. Then predicts a 88-7 win against Northwestern which was actually pretty close..

It seems Drew is totally unprepared. But the stories they tell....Lee Harvey!...they are fantastic! Not a lot of substance, but great behind the scenes. Anton has a nice outlook on life

The podcast is disjointed, but I learn things I don't hear anywhere else. Mitch King loves Jaleel's big plays but says Bazata is more consistent and always in the right place.

All three guys couldn't call Fred Russell anything but Freddie Baller.
