So…when we fight the “War for Greenland”…

…who do we attack? Greenland itself or Denmark? Santa’s village?
Strategically speaking, if we take Nuuk, we take Greenland.

I think Trump does things like this with an alternative purpose. With Russia moving into Ukraine, China is encroaching on countries near their own… Trump rings a similar bell with Greenland, Canada… China takes notice and it might produce a more open dialogue about taking over countries. Just spitballing.

He does things, says things, seemingly out of the blue with, often, strange undertones… in order to manufacture leverage.

Nah. He says this crazy stuff to distract from the actual things he has planned.

It's like Canada. No way he would want Canada a real state. That's two more democratic senators, a bunch more US Reps, and probably 60 electoral votes. That would break the backs of the GOP.

Trump is simply information overloading right now so that people can't keep up.

This.

The media should ignore:
—Buying Greenland
—Making Canada the 51st state
—Military in Panama
—The Gulf of America

The media should grill him on:
—Tackling inflation
—How tariffs will reduce the cost of goods
—Details on the deportation plan
—How he will resolve the War in Ukraine in the first 24 hours

Nailed it.

When was the last time we heard about Trumps picks for positions in government.

Don't worry, sweetie, you're definitely 4F and would never have to fear going to war for your country!

Yep. It's a way for him to pretend that he's doing stuff without actually doing stuff. If he didn't change the narrative with these clickbait ideas people would be talking about the real problems.

O shit.... is this part of the 2025 project you guys posters not named alaskanseminole told me about?
FIFY

Here's my posting history regarding that topic (tip: It's very very short).

To save time, this was probably my favorite take:

HORT MAGAs - What about Project 2025 excites you?
While not a MAGA, I personally, just really like the word "project" — it rolls right off the tongue with a satisfying rhythm and feels versatile in its usage, whether in discussing plans, creative endeavors, or even research initiatives. It's a very exciting word.

I agree
I just think its rich that climate deniers (maga) don't understand greenlands value/how it becomes valuable and that it's not the same as alaska...
Not knowing what a glacier is, is a good representation of the maga nation.

Or... he's just plain an idiot with a very limited thought process. Yep... that one gets my vote.

This is 100% spot on.

Housing is one of the biggest problems we have. What are Trump's plans for that? He can change as many gulf names as he wants but that won't make housing one penny cheaper.
CHAPTER FOUR: BRING BACK THE AMERICAN DREAM AND MAKE IT AFFORDABLE AGAIN FOR FAMILIES, YOUNG PEOPLE, AND EVERYONE

Our Commitment:

Republicans offer a plan to make the American Dream affordable again. We commit to reducing Housing, Education, and Healthcare costs, while lowering everyday expenses, and increasing opportunities.

1. Housing Affordability

To help new home buyers, Republicans will reduce mortgage rates by slashing Inflation, open limited portions of Federal Lands to allow for new home construction, promote homeownership through Tax Incentives and support for first-time buyers, and cut unnecessary Regulations that raise housing costs.

2. Accessible Higher Education

To reduce the cost of Higher Education, Republicans will support the creation of additional, drastically more affordable alternatives to a traditional four-year College degree.

3. Affordable Healthcare

Healthcare and prescription drug costs are out of control. Republicans will increase Transparency, promote Choice and Competition, and expand access to new Affordable Healthcare and prescription drug options. We will protect Medicare, and ensure Seniors receive the care they need without being burdened by excessive costs.

4. Lower Everyday Costs

Republicans will reduce the Regulatory burden, lower Energy costs, and promote Economic Policies that drive down the cost of living and prices for everyday goods and services.

But Rs have no plans to reduce inflation. Trump has all but admitted defeat on this front. So how does that make housing affordable?

Further, inflation is already at normal levels now. But prices are still sky high. So again, what's the plan?

And I agree that subsidies can help make housing affordable. So what are the specifics on that? Will Trump give first time home buyers $50k, or some such number, to buy their first homes?

No, he's just clueless. Remember, this is the guy who kept bringing up Hannibal Lecter because he thought 'seeking asylum' referred to an insane asylum. Sharpness isn't exactly his strong suit.

Housing prices will always be a problem when people can make a business out of it.
I have 1 friend with 8 homes. All but 1 is a VRBO property. The value to him of a home is more than the worth to a single family home owner. That is a problem.
Friend 2 owns 5 homes, none of VRBO, all bought with 2 other couples. So 3 couples own 7 homes. More power to you but when you price people out of a market either through Price or Inventory there is a trickle down effect.

Yep. Seems like the only way to wrestle back control is to put a cap on people like this. Because if you open up federal lands with no cap, rich people will just gobble it all up and use them for rentals like your friends.

Just saw today that Trump hopes to meet with Putin within his first six months to talk about Ukraine. So much for 24 hours.

He has a plan there too, he is going to add tariffs to lumber coming in from Canada and drill baby drill. That along with massive deportation of the workers that pour the concrete, frame, drywall and roof the houses should drive down the cost dramatically.

Funny thing... the oil companies have said they're not going to drill baby drill lol
