So…when we fight the “War for Greenland”…

his debate with Kamala really proved your point, his quick wit responses are mostly asinine. But the guy has to have some strategy he is following. Maybe that strategy is just throw a bunch of shit in the wall and see what sticks.
possibly. One thing that was apparent during his first term was he did so much crazy shit, no one could keep track of it all, so none of it really was any more egregious than his previous day's actions.

I know it’s a minor detail but it appears Greenland kind of opposes being purchased.
It’s not happening but just for fun, are the results of the Native American peoples in the Louisiana Purchase archived?
Is there an Igloo Museum where the results of the Eskimo vote are preserved?
😂

from what i read denmark got greenland only in the 1950s and it was based on a explorer reaching there in the 18th century. also the population is entirely inuit (total population is about 56k) and they got self-governance via a referendum in 1979.

does any of the above make trump’s greenland aspirations sound more reasonable?

no, not particularly.

Canadian oil and natural gas compete with Russia's biggest income source. Panama enforces international sanctions against Russia by revoking vessel registration. Greenland hosts a strategic NATO facility, Thule Air Base, to contain Russian aggression.
Just saying.

Panama is suing the trump organization for tax evasion. He's retaliating against that.

I think Trump does things like this with an alternative purpose. With Russia moving into Ukraine, China is encroaching on countries near their own… Trump rings a similar bell with Greenland, Canada… China takes notice and it might produce a more open dialogue about taking over countries. Just spitballing.

He does things, says things, seemingly out of the blue with, often, strange undertones… in order to manufacture leverage.

The US has become a debtors nation. Most of those that do the same fold rather quickly, but since we have the biggest military, here we are.

You have two options:
Cut spending- won't believe I will ever see that in my lifetime
Grow your tax base and resource base- This is more than serious about the US acquiring Greenland. Have you looked at the natural resources of Greenland that have been untapped?

why are they untapped?

Remember when MAGA's were busy calling Biden and Harris warmongers for supporting Ukraine and maintaining our treaties with Israel? Well, there were plenty on the far left that did that as well, so let's be fair. Anyway, yeah. Good times. Now we have our NATO allies actively discussing invoking article 5 against the US because we might invade Greenland and Canada. Yes, this is much better.

It was all made up lies to support Trump's racist views. They never really cared about inflation or ending wars. They just wanted to stick it to minorities.

There is little to no infrastructure to start with as they only have about 60,000 people. I see this as a major play for the US for our growth and at the very least keeping China out.
So, the answer is to invade and take over a sovereign state? Really?

Who said it had to be hostile? They have never really had their own unified state as they were under parts of Denmark and then just recently went on their own. I'm not sure if you know this, but this wouldn't be the first time the US has tried to buy Greenland.

They have said they are not interested and Trump has stated he will not rule out force. And I'm not sure you know this, but the last time the US looked into buying Greenland was 1946.

So, do they need some blankets to keep them warm?
