Maybe use this thread as a feel good and share some wins from the last week or so? Seems like a lot of bad news this week and we could all use a pick-me-up.

That's a good win right there.

I was glad to hear it. My least favorite aunt also has cancer, I don't know the status of that but I know this sounds like a douche thing to say but I honestly don't care as much. I'm not like rooting against her or anything but similar to my grandmother who already passed I don't have much emotional attachment there.

To thine own self be true, once they are gone you can't get them back though.

My grandmother's been dead for probably about 9 years now. Still can't say I miss her much. I have 16 cousins on my dad's side alone (there are 18 of us total including myself and my brother), my grandmother had her favorites and that applied pretty much my entire life. I was so far down that list that she never even bothered to get my name right. And that wasn't just something that happened in old age, that was consistently true my entire childhood.

One of the reasons my favorite aunt is my favorite aunt is that I have a memory from probably around 30 years ago that she called out her own mother in front of her siblings for not getting my name right. That's something my parents didn't even do.

Not that it changed anything but the fact that she stood up for me when I was like 10 to 12 years old means a lot.

My oldest son’s last two archery meets have been a “return to form”, after starting the season a bit slowly.

Son #2 has made huge improvements on the BB court, and he’s seeing some fruits for his labor. More stats, more playing time…his team is less awful…

For me, I’m on a bit of a heater in the sports betting world, so that’s nice.

Finally got the contract finalized for the master bathroom remodel. Can’t wait to take my first shit in it and nail OPs mom over the vanity.
If you don't mind me asking- size/ cost? My new house is mostly updated in the kitchen, but master bath is that standard 90's double vanity, corner jacuzzi, shower in other corner thing.

**I also think we could be cancelled for calling it a "master" bath if I recall 2024 correctly

Not real big at all. Single vanity, stand up shower. Running about $22K. We hope in the next few years to do an addition with a new room for us, then allow our current room to be for guests.

I like where your head is, OP. This is similar to my say something nice thread. Lot's of positives:

- Wife's foot surgery is finally starting to show signs of recovery/healing
- Soccer season for my son starts up Saturday
- Got a bonus from our AVP on Monday
- Landed a Navy Reserve contract this week
- Daughter is looking to PCS back to Lackland or NSA-T this year

Definitely more positive going on in life than negative

Yikes, my bathroom will remain as is for a while then. Congrats on the upgrade! Make sure to get a bidet. Great for washing out the old lady (OP mom) anuth after you splooge in them

Only two more days of "dry January". I'll probably do "dry up to the Super Bowl". Babysat 3 of the grandkids yesterday and built a fort out of all of the branches and limbs that had fallen this winter and because it was a nice day also got in some kickball.

Also got some good news from friends that their 16 y/o son who has cancer is having his last chemo treatment next month plus was granted a wish from Make-A-Wish foundation to go to London for a Prem match.

The cattle market is on fire right now with cash leading the board significantly. I am roughly two weeks away from the new crop of baby calves starting to be born. I get so much more satisfaction/enjoyment from my cow/calf operation than I ever do from putting seed in the ground and watching it grow. Row crop is easier work but man is it boring compared to calving cows and watching those little calves grow.

Plus they're tasty!

If you survive, do you have to refund Make-A-Wish?

I've always wondered!
