Will he give us the “we’ll look at the film and see how practice goes this week” non-commitment to who will be the quarterback?
Kirk should own his refusal to test this kid when McNamara has been so bad. It is week 8 FFS.As long as he makes the right choice for next week, who gives a shit what he says?

Hopefully the press conference goes begins with "I've enjoyed my time coaching here but it's with a heavy heart..." etc etcWill he give us the “we’ll look at the film and see how practice goes this week” non-commitment to who will be the quarterback?
Right but we have 20 years of knowing that won't happen. At this point I'm just glad Cade has not had a helmet on since his awful picksix.Kirk should own his refusal to test this kid when McNamara has been so bad. It is week 8 FFS.
See who practices well. Will he give us the “we’ll look at the film and see how practice goes this week” non-commitment to who will be the quarterback?
He's almost in game shape ya dumb ass!Kirk should own his refusal to test this kid when McNamara has been so bad. It is week 8 FFS.
I will be less than 0% shocked if McNamara starts next week. Will he give us the “we’ll look at the film and see how practice goes this week” non-commitment to who will be the quarterback?
As much as he might want to do that, he doesn't get that luxury this week. Not if he wants to keep coaching.Something like this:
“Sullivan came in and gave us a shot in the arm. Thought he really played well, but Cade is our starter.”

Big portion of the fan base is going to turn on him if he keeps 12 on the field after today. As much as he might want to do that, he doesn't get that luxury this week. Not if he wants to keep coaching.
I'm telling you that he can't get up in front of the media this week and tell everyone that "Cade has done enough good things and that he gives the team the best chance to win". Even the Casper Milquetoasts known as Iowa sports journalists aren't letting that one slide again. The charade is over, along with Cade's career at Iowa. Barring injury or horrendous performance, Sullivan will be finishing out the year as starting QB.I agree w you that KF made a mistake sticking with Cade so long, but KF could name Hayden Large the starter at QB and he’s not getting fired.
Unless you’re telling me you hear rumblings in IC that the big money donors are ready to write the 30 million dollar check.

Hope you're right.I'm telling you that he can't get up in front of the media this week and tell everyone that "Cade has done enough good things and that he gives the team the best chance to win". “Cade took a shot there and probably wasn’t a wise decision to keep playing him after that and we have always believed in Brendan and knew he would do a good job out there. We will know more next week on the starter…… yea, that depends on health and tape and what we can do to compete best against Wisconsin”
And I think the sideline reporter specifically asked him to comment on Sullivan's contribution, and KF glossed over it, crediting as you said the D, KJ and the punter. No real compliment of Sullivan. Pathetic.after the game he was asked by the reporter about this win and KF just credited the defense, kj and punter for the win. i think he forgot one more ingredient....obviously i mean his half-time moticvational speech
Speaking of, why tf was Lainez not out there in the 4th quarter with the rest of the backups? Heaven forbid we protect Sullivan from a stupid injuryI hope he marches Lainez out next week. Just for the shit show it will cause around here.

Kirk going to start the 50/50 split stuff in weeks 9-10, settle on one of those guys for the final three weeksJust said he will have to see how Cade is but also said playing Sullivan was planned today.
