including their offensive coordinator, QB coach and o-line coach. They have the fourth best offense in the league statistically. The Hawks have to be at or near the bottom again this year yet BF and KOK are still around. They make North of $1.5 M combined, shameful something isn't done to improve our offensive coaching on that side of the ball.

Nebraska’s offense ranks 19th in the country and second in the conference behind OSU. We can only dream!

Their problem is mostly Martinez. He’s terrible and a turnover machine.
Their 4th if you look at only conference games. 0.4 pts separates them from Wisconsin in 6th place. There problem on the offensive side of the ball is the coaching. Martinez covers up for a lot with a bad OL and not having good RB the coaches have always put way too much pressure on him.

This may have something to do with the fusker firings, and why Iowa coaches have not been fired.

Last four seasons:
Iowa: 32-11
fuskers: 14-26

Plus they are undefeated in bowls games since frost showed up.

Class personified……You can complain all you want about BF and Kirk but they do not throw their players or coaches under the bus. No program is perfect but for a state with our recruiting base Kirk has done a pretty good job.
With that said,,,I don’t like our offense one bit and sure wish we would bring in someone who could turn us around- but I just don’t think Kirk will do it- it’s frustrating for all of us but know way I would want our program run by a person like Frost.

People need to stop dreaming about KF firing his son and his best friend. We all saw this coming 5 years ago. Iowa is too nice of a place to fire coaches or bench players. Just deal with it and hope KF has some epiphany and decides to retire before we see ‘98-‘99 all over again…

Who coaches the offense with no coaches in next two games

No. just be glad we aren't a classless program like the fuskers. You don't want that do you ?

Don’t worry, there are 7 teams in the country that produce less Total Offense than Iowa’s 299.2 per game.

KF threw Doyle on the sword to save his son's job. He's not that perfect.

Perdue still would have beat us...

All the firings were little more than sacrificial lambs - to placate fans. "Fan hope" is reliant on the perspective that there will be some observed change and improvement.

I'm happy to see that a former Hawk gets to keep his job though.

Frosty was out of ways to throw the players under the bus, so he found a way to deflect the record from himself.

Next year will be the new system excuse plus he’ll still have the defensive coach’s ready to line up in front of the firing squad. Alberts did get the buyout cut to 7.5 million so there may well be a plan to Frosts restructuring.

Don’t worry, there are only about 7 teams with better records than Iowa over the last 5-6 years.

While every win is important, the narrative you're attempting to create is flawed. Since 2015, the Hawks have wins over Illinois State, North Texas x2, Miami (Ohio) x2, Wyoming, Northern Illinois, Middle Tennesee, Kent State, and Colorado State, along with wins over bad B1G teams. Wins matter, but so do bad losses to North Dakota State and bad Northwestern, Rutgers, Minnesota and Purdue teams. All of those have occurred since 2015 with no conference titles. Clearly, nobody wants to trade for the Nebraska program, but it'd be nice to have the additional 160 yards of offense each game they're producing. Wins matter, and we'd arguably have two more this season, if the offense wasn't so pedestrian. I believe the point of the OP was to highlight how teams with more prolific offenses are firing their coaches while Iowa continues to settle for perennially lower half of the lower half offensive output.

I understand that our offense sucks and we want blood but are we really going to compare a coach who’s 15-27 over the last 4 years to a coach who’s 32-11?
It is possible to win more games with a better offense. Who knows what Kirk’s record would be with even an average offense.

I hear you and 100% agree. I just don’t think Scott Frost is the benchmark. And you and I both know that no matter how much we scream the war chant on an internet message board, nothing is going to change.

Firing coaches have worked out well for Nebraska. Knee jerk reactions are never a good thing.

Remind me how many times Iowa has won its division in the last five years, despite all those wins. I never was good at math, but a friend tells me the answer is ZERO.
The entire success rating of football isn't whether you win the division or not. It would be nice, but it's not the end all be all.

I would love to have KOK back as offensive coordinator. He ran a very balanced attack. We could actually run the ball, something that we haven't been very good at since Greene was our featured back.
