2. Iowa: A lot of people will complain that Iowa's uniforms look too much like the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the Steelers look good! And so do the Hawkeyes! If you're flipping through games on a college football Saturday, you immediately recognize the Iowa Hawkeyes when they show up on your screen. They're simple and classic, but also with the right stripes in the right places to make them pop a bit more. Plus, that logo is fantastic.

The man says, "That logo is fantastic." I agree. Maybe it would look fantastic at midfield in historic Kinnick Stadium, too. I hope we find out someday soon.

Yes, funnyfletcher, the author pretty much punts away his credibility with NW at #3 and PSU at #1. Those don't seem to fit with his overall comments, but since he values the Hawkeyes uniforms so much--as everyone should--I have to give him some leeway.
I wouldn't rank PSU #1 either. I was surprised too see Michigan at #4, they're usually #1, because of the helmets. Northwestern doesn't bother me because our uniforms are ranked above them. There is no doubt, when you look at them, Iowa has one of the most beautiful uniforms in college football.
I believe the Iowa uniform is the best in college football with Michigan a relatively close 2nd.
The one thing that every fan of every college football team can agree on: Maryland should not be allowed to have a football team until they get rid of those atrocious helmets. They are a crime against humanity!
Iowa at #2? Double barf. At least NU is original, not copying some pro team.

Like the author said, "When the Hawkeyes show up on the screen; you know immediately who they are." Our uniforms are as iconic as they are beautiful. I hope they never change.
I have been saying this for decades. Kin nick needs three basic changes.
1. Logo at mid field
2. Full size goal posts
3. Logo on the water tower.
Obviously somebody who would put Penn State at #1 is an uncultured buffoon harboring an unnatural attraction for little boys.
I don't see the hate for Maryland's helmets though I think they are classy as can be and was delighted when they introduced them. Kind of busy true but true to the state flag, ditto for Indiana when they use that helmet (not pictured), they are unique.

I would would put UM #1, OSU #2, Iowa #3, and MSU #4 in the BIG10. The thing is all 4 are in the top 10 in all of college FB! Can't deny We are up there as an elite helmet. I also like the NU helmets with the big graphic of the wildcat. That should be their full time helmet. The one w/ the N is really lame IMO. As far as the Iowa helmet I remember being at a wedding in 1999 in New Haven, Conn. I didn't know a single person at the reception bc I was there w/ my girlfriend. I walk out on the balcony and there's a big group of dudes swigging scotch and smoking cigars having a debate about the "coolest" uni's in CFB. Ucla, LSU, UM etc. were being thrown about as usual and so I throw out Iowa for the hell of it and they all pretty much said in unison " Iowa..? yeah! their uni's are awesome!!!, easily some of the coolest!" ......brought a tear to my eye. Felt like a proud papa.

Northwestern is a joke at #3. He was spot on with Maryland being dead last. PSU at #1 is also a head scratcher. Wisconsin is higher than #12. He doesn't like the big W on their helmets? A large percentage of teams have a letter on their helmets.
We are getting NFL style goal posts this season.
Also, couldn't disagree with you more on mid field logo.

Funny thing about that, during the B10 Media Days, the student-athlete representatives took their annual poll questionnaire and one of the questions was who has the best helmet (other than your team). By far, the school that got the most votes, from the players themselves, was............................Maryland.

I'm older and usually old school on most things but one thing I wished would happen is an up date to our uniforms. That all Black idea and the white pants with yellow jersey for away that was floated a while back..Those would be perfect imho. I think it's time to break away from the Steeler (who I'm also a fan of) look.
I disagree. I love the look of our current uniforms. If anything maybe just have the option for black pants at home and white pants for away games. I do think we should do one alternate (non throwback) every year for recruiting purposes. Would be awesome for either the Iowa State or Michigan game.
Me too. I think less is more in this case, especially since everyone overdoes everything nowadays - it's clean n simple! My opinion - i like.
Kind of ridiculous that hasn't happened yet. Then there is that damn water tower......
I say keep the outline of what we already have, but add some more pizzazz to what is already there. Tweek the helmets a bit, enlarge the tigerhawk and indent it or have it extend out a fraction of an inch. Change the shoes to black, put an emphasis on wrist bands(full size), and other add-ons.
