(Some)Midlands Entries #'s on TrackWrestling

It’s not that important what he wrestles at midlands, but if hasn’t been training hard (as you implied), there’s going to be trouble. It’s more symbolic that he is ready. You initially said he didn’t have time to make 184. He only had 5-6 days whereas everybody else had a semester. I questioned that. That makes no sense. He’s had plenty of time. If he really walks around 195 (his words), then he should go 184, but it doesn’t really matter. Just think your excuse made no sense. But, since you creep on the wrestlers, maybe you are right.
Last reply. There is a difference between finding a training partner, lifiting, running, and cutting significant weight as well. Never said he was not where he needed to be as far as physical shape. Think coaches are pleased with where he is at both physically and weight wise. His last response, that I heard, was that he was just under 200, before practice. Think that is very good weight control considering everything he has been dealing with...that I have mentioned previously. If my trying to provide informative information is creepy to you why not just put me on ignore?

Speaking of creepy...somebody has a mean on for you. Screwed either way...if you have some info and don’t share it, people get pissed. If you do share some info, it’s creeping on dudes. Always one guy or two that drinks too much haterade. Hawknut’s fun meter is pegged after all the Christmas parties.

I'd ignore Hawknut, she just likes to bitch about everything

My first thought when he said he was going 197 is that it would affect the team race. With him and Warner possibly knocking Wilke off of the podium but I guess we shall see.

Didn't think about that but I guess that is a possibility. If the team race comes down to it will the coaches allow Warner or Downey to wrestle Wilke in the semis, wrestlebacks or place matches?

Old people think Twitter is creeping. I remember a certain poster begging us not to follow or interact with wrestlers in fear of recruiting violations. Luddites.

Couldn't the same be said regarding Lee. In fact....if the plan is to Free the Lee......why not do it before Midlands so he can count. Wouldn't that make the Hawkeyes solid favorites to win it ....again?

its nice to win the midlands, but the staff needs to see what Warner, Lee, and Murin can do in a two day tournament against top competition before they are going to consider pulling there RS.

Absolutely, positively, DO NOT interact with recruits on Twitter. And I don’t say that out of worry over recruiting violations.

I was talking to you when I posted, I'll take your word on it, spooner. However, I don't know what the problem would be. I think you're just wrong. I can't interact with kids that are friends of my kids, kids that wrestled on our team or just wrestlers I've watched grow up? Silly.

Show me something.

If it was a problem the football team and every other team wouldn't be able to field a team. I think you just don't know what you're talking about, with all due respect.

Iowa can choose any 10 they want to count for the team standing. Yes Lee would probably help, but they still can win without Lee and it keeps available to redshirt.

Has to be one per weight class this year. Someone corrected me on this a few months ago. NCAA wants unified scoring. So no more multiple scores at the same weight.

From what I heard, team does not have to select which wrestler at the weight will be used for scoring. They will go ahead and take the team points scored for the highest finishing wrestler if a team has two at a weight. Is that correct?

I am aware of all that. Stop changing my criticisms. You said Downey had no time to lose weight (5-7 days) and all the other guys did (semester) I disputed that and said it made no sense. Regardless, doesn’t matter. As for the creeping comment, you have numerous posts claiming to have spoken to _____ (insert wrestler name here) after practice. Maybe it’s not creeping, but it sounds like it. If you aren’t a creeper, I apologize.

Don’t be ridiculous. This is regarding kids you don’t know IRL.

Never sounded creepy to me. Sounded like someone in the Room who talks to and interacts with the wrestlers and coaches. That's what most of us want........some inside info that is accurate instead of guesstimates and fantasy from the rest of the internet experts.

Your accusing him of being creepy seemed far out of place. Really!

Is Berge even going to be able to make 149 next year?
I wouldn't doubt it. I stood next to him at the Princeton Open and he can't be more than 5'6 or 5'7. Looked undersized compared to the older and more physically mature 57s in the tournament. If he plans on going 157 he definitely needs a full year. Technically he looked great, but needs to add strength for college. I think the Midlands will be a bit rough for him at 157.

I have been to a few practices with him...no creeping...Usually just sitting in the top row and shutting up unless we are spoken to. One hear's a lot of stuff and the guys do shoot the shit once in awhile. Most of it is not shared on here.

I do not usually communicate to high school wrestlers on twitter but I have said good tourney or something similar. Not ‘come to Iowa!’ I find if someone does overly do this, it’s annoying. I know iachief shouts out some wrestlers on the tweeter and they retweet and like it. It’s just knowing the boundaries. I don’t see too many hawk fans abuse the twitter. Football is a different story.

Spooner don’t pinfall me please:)

As far as I know, you have to set your scoring lineup before the tournament starts.

I here you, Spooner. Like was said earlier, I would only say good tourney or something like that. I wouldn't even post inside info on kid, even if I had the go-ahead.
