- every gutless media sportswriter who kisses athletic department’s ass to be on their good grace should ask for firing or resignation of Fran, his entire worthless crew, and Barta
- every Hawk fan should do the same
- Tyler Cook, and I try hard not to be harsh on these 18 to 22 year old kids, must stop playing like he’s posing for an NBA audition shot everytime he touches the ball
- how many air balls did Daley have? Reinstate Dolph now, even though he was suspended for a different reason
- don’t ever red shirt players when you have injury prone players like Pemsl
- hire coaches to replace the current ones who know how to make adjustments at the end of the season when other teams have figured us out
- send Moss to a mid major team he’ll be great there
- spend time with Garza. Help him get his confidence back. Help him get his spacing right for 3 points shots we all know he can make
- Iowa did major damage to its recruiting after these last few games and off the court issues. Not to share what we can do about this?

Other suggestions are welcomed.

Get more brothas on the team. That's my suggestion.

Oh, and fire Barta, but you already mentioned that.

I thought about naming other players, but I stopped. At least people like Jake Kelly, Jeff Peterson and reserves Jermain Davis and David Palmer all transferred after having enough of Lickleiter’s bull.

Every coach, AD, has landed on the move on scenario at one time. Just wondering if their has ever been a clamor for fans to move on.

Hire a coach who values athleticism and isn't afraid to recruit over guys and bring transfers in. You get 2 years to demonstrate what you can do. After that it's time to bring somebody in (but clearly Fran can't) or have the talk about other opportunities. It's not about winning at Iowa. It's about doing it the right way and that is what these bozos sell on the I-Club circuit. Wait until next year when Rutgers, IL, NW all take major strides. Hell Penn State has nothing to play for and they are playing their asses off. Iowa has everything to play for and they are complete no shows.

Enough is enough... such a bad display of basketball... then for good measure the basketball department unloads on a guy like Dolphin for being an unintentional simpleton.. . but let’s not forget the head coach blows his cool and makes himself unavailable when his team has reached the depths of another season ending swoon...By all appearances this looks like amateur hour on the hardwood.. class job coach

In other words you need better "Whiteys"

Better players. I'm half kidding about the whole more brothas on the team comment. I mean it's kinda true but kinda puerile too.

Of course, some people can't handle a little jocularity when it comes to the obvious. But whatever. I'm not mad at anyone. It's kinda funny, though, people's responses when someone suggests black players are typically better than whites. Big time bigotry. But mention crime statistics in Chicago and the racial angle of that and the "non-bigots" nod and smile. Funny how selective outrage works.

The ultra intelligent "Iowa Fans" demanded this guy gets fired as well. Hahaha...put Iowa in a tailspin that it just recently has seen some better days. Never seen so many dudes that would of made it to the pros if it wasn't for that asshole of a high school coach they had. How can there be a shortage of officials and coaches out there in the sub-high school and high school level in Iowa.....geniuses. If you are so distraught that you have to yell about someone getting fired or shout that a college kid is garbage then you are the problem or have one.

Iowa fans were spoiled back then. But this is an apples and oranges comparison and an insult to Dr. Tom to compare him to Fran. Dr. Tom's teams played hard, that was never in question. Dr. Tom was also fairly consistent. The only consistency in the Iowa program under Fran is mediocre recruiting and late-season collapses when entering the Top 25 at mid-season.

Serious question: Are you applauding Gary Barta for ensuring Fran would be at Iowa for the foreseeable future?

Back then????? Love Dr. Tom and everything he stood and stands for. It is EXACTLY the same narrative without the glorious message boards. Couldn't recruit, couldn't win the big game...not enough. Iowa fans ran Lute, George, and Dr Tom out over the exact same narrative.

As far as Dr. Tom is concerned, that's why I said Iowa fans were spoiled back then.

You are the first person I've ever heard say the fans "ran out" Lute and George. Can someone older than me confirm this statement as fact or fiction?

Btw, you didn't answer my question.

Change will only happen when fans STOP coming to Carver. It will be a tough ticket to sell as well as people deciding o DONATE their money $$$ elsewhere.

I suspect for many this will also start to become a consideration when the complete their taxes and realize that seat donations for seating are no longer tax deductible. I needs to find some other ways to actually tie true U of I donations into the seat equation IMO.

The Nebraska game will be a tipping point this season. Get it and you have a 11-9 in the BT, undefeated non-conference, NCAA bid at a 9 or 10 seed (higher if we have BTT success). That's above average Iowa basketball the last 30 years. Some highlights- NYC, beating Iowa St, Michigan, late game winning shots, some low lights-last 3 games getting blown out by middle to bottom big ten teams.

The distressing thing is how they have lost the last three. Nobody is playing well. There are a lot of ways they are not a good team- defense, athleticism, etc. They can compete when the offense gets going, but nobody is scoring well at all lately. JBo, JW, LG, TC, IM have all had good to great stretches this year. When 2 of those guys are good Iowa can beat people. Lately none of them have been good at all and they either go to the bench or look for someone else to score.

Here is what our offense seems to look like lately, Cook having the ball 17 feet from the basket at the end of the shot clock, our guards trying to force it inside when its not there causing turnovers, Moss missing his first shot then sitting for long stretches, JBo getting suffocated by the defense, Garza looking lost with no confidence, JW not knowing when to be aggressive....the MD and/or CM on the court means there are one or two guys who are no threat from anywhere making the offense bog down even more.

Wisconsin is definitely the wrong place to hope your offense gets going. Maybe Fran on the bench will help. Maybe a guy gets hot early and the team gets rolling.

Sigh................

The season is not over. We will finish either 11-9, or 10-10 in conference which is 6 or 7 games better than last year and we are going to the NCAA tournament whether you guys deem us worthy or not.

I know exactly the point you're trying to make. We are going to finish with (at least) 21 wins and finish 6th in the B1G. Most experts picked us 10th or worse. You would think normally we would be happy to be having a good season, especially after last year. BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, watching this team disintegrate at the end of the season into the absolute worse team in the league, playing with so little passion, when they had a chance to make this a memorable season just sucks the life out of this Iowa fan.

I hear you. I'm just trying to be positive.

I don't know if the fans really ran Lute out. He and his wife didn't like the fish bowl of Iowa City and wanted a warmer climate. George couldn't find a social life he wanted in Iowa City. Dollar Bob was a dumb ass for what he did to Dr.Tom. If we only could have had George recruit and Dr. Tom coach we would have had something.

Got nothing good to say. At least Baer has kept playing the last few games. Can't think of any other players to say much good about.

Wieskamp is playing hard. I honestly think he’s hit a physical/mental wall a little bit which is to be expected of a Freshman. Also, have to temember no Big Ten teams have been through a 20 game conference grind before - I heard sone ex-Big Ten player mention that as being a big deal.

I think the guys off the bench are all playing hard as well but they are bench players. There has to be better effort and play out if he starters.
