The potential of coaching Lee must keep Terry Brands up nights. His ability to take guys down and go straight into a lace from pretty much any position is scary good. As for Mark Hall, I read somewhere that this is the first year he is actually lifting. Nagy was bigger than him and kind of horsed him a bit. Mark has some of the best technique I have seen in a long time. Now he just needs the hand fighting and ability to move his opponents to go along with it.

Hawkster...you can still go here and rewind it to the 17 minute mark...that's where it starts. Lee had a surprised "well shit, that was kinda easy look on his face" afterward.

Did I hear correctly that people on this board were saying Hall is a better recruit(and more important) than Lee?
It's about need. We have lightweight dudes coming to Iowa. We just need another Lee/Suriano type. Mark Hall is definite need in the upper weights. Yea, he lost today but he didn't look himself even in the matches he won plus he looked winded. Sometimes in a situation like this, it can be a motivator and bring him back down to earth...kind of like the Freakshow final against Valencia did. After that, Hall seemed to be an unstoppable force.
Sorry hawkster, I thought Brazil was Eastern time zone. My bad. Luckily I got to watch the match thanks to Twitter reminding me at the last minute. This kid is unreal. Keep in mind he is only 16 and had to petition in to even wrestle Juniors (17-19 year olds). Could see him being a 4 timer if he can fend off Fix all if these years. Hope he becomes a Hawkeye!!

Looks like a kid having FUN which is what the sport is supposed to be like. Looks like his parents have done a great job supporting him and his passion.

Haha Vak...Yea, that Spencer will be worth the price of admission. Here's what I like...even in the freestyle match against against Fix...he never stopped being aggressive and shooting. It's in his DNA and if he came to Carver, the state of Iowa would fall in love with the kid. I've said it before...we are living in a golden age of USA wrestling with these kids coming up. The potential in some of these guys is amazing.
Spencer is simply a beast and would look great in any singlet. That said, someone is going to get an absolute gem and there are going to be some disappoinment for any fan base that comes up empty handed!

Pretty cool you guys give such respect to a kid from a state other than your own where others might nitpick and find ways to criticise. That being said, I too will always be a huge fan. Even if he does decide to make himself a Hawkeye.
Spencer Lee, where to go? I know Cael and Ryan know the best coaches for his style are Tom and Terry, he knows that as well.
However, he is big on his dad being there to support and watch him. That leads me to believe that Iowa is not going to be his first choice.
