Anybody else notice in the otherwise excellent S.I. article on Uthoff and the Hawks, they said after Uthoff returned to AMES that he felt comfortable in Fran's uptempo system.

Anybody else notice in the otherwise excellent S.I. article on Uthoff and the Hawks, they said after Uthoff returned to AMES that he felt comfortable in Fran's uptempo system.

Also he said Uthoff lost a year by transferring to another Big Ten school. Seems to me he lost that 4th year of competition by transferring--period--and having to sit out-- and by redshirting his lst year at Wisky. . He would have lost a year no matter what D1 school he transferred (unless he was one of those senior type transfers who have graduated--another thing altogether).

Correct. The only thing different about transferring to a Big 10 school was that Uthoff had to pay his own way for a year. Had he transferred somewhere else, he still would have sat out a year, but he would have been on scholarship while doing so.

That statement's not entirely untrue. When Uthoff was in Ames scoring 30 in the first half against the Clowns, he appeared to be very comfortable in Fran's uptempo system. Don't know if I'd call that a return though.
