I hope the young men on the team continue where they left off last summer. I think this team could be better than last year but will need to get stronger. Losing Cook, Baer and Dailey is a big hit.

Getting Nunge, Pemsl and Fredrick in the fold should help. I think Nunge will give us a nice inside/outside big, Pemsl should bring the same fire that Baer did off the bench. Fredrick has a great family pedigree and great range, another outside weapon.

Then you add in PMc and Joe T, who knows. Toussaint's quickness, defensive intensity and ability to penetrate is much needed.

Yes, the 19-20 addition could be very good but they'll need to keep working to improve because the Big will be very tough again.

Yep, I think the strength program is a big big deal in terms of needing to produce results.....I think we got good results last year, but I hope this year is even better...more evident.

Last year Garza developed a 10 lb cyst in the offseason.

I'm just gonna say, Patrick McCaffery could sure use an extra 10 lbs right now.

The thing most crazy about Pmac is he's the coaches son..like the one guy who could afford a trainer and dietician. Something smells fishy

Some people aren't meant to be muscular. I am sure PMac will look more like a man and less like a kid in a couple of years. White was pretty skinny when we recruited him, for example.

strength and bulk are 2 different things. Patrick has gotten much stronger and added a lot of lean muscle in the last 18 months, the problem he's had is consuming enough calories to gain mass/weight which is what they are working towards. As stated by Fran and Patrick, they are shooting for 195lbs. by this Fall or he may redshirt.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe he should redshirt and add weight and work on the college game. However, the trainers know best along with his dad, so we'll see what goes.

People need to understand that Patrick just may NEVER gain the weight most of us think he should gain. His condition is almost certainly to blame.

If you are hoping he can be a bruiser underneath, because he is 6’8”, that will never happen. If we can get 4 years of production out of him similar to what we got out of Jim Bartels (Davis era) senior year, we should be very happy. Bartels has a similar build.

LOL...or his body chemistry is set up in a way that makes it hard for him to put on mass.

Some people have a really easy time putting on muscle mass or fat and others can't do it regardless of what they put in their mouths and how much they work out. My guess is Patrick has a tough time putting on weight thus he should focus on functional strength.
