Really glad the season is underway, but I can’t recall Iowa putting out a lineup like this recently. Not a huge deal for the first match of the season and great opportunity for some of these guys to showcase their abilities. Nonetheless I hope we see more starters the following week (for very selfish reasons).
Who do you think gets the nod at 133?
I’m sure we’ll see both in action over the next few weeks.

In the press conference Tom said that both Nelson and Swafford were “close”, but it made sense to leave them out of the lineup.
Messenbrink is easily the biggest star at Cal Baptist. 3X Wisconsin State Champ and a World U20 Silver Medalist. I imagine he’ll be in the portal at some point over the course of his career.
The only real disappointment I have is we will not get to see Woods. Yea no Spencer sucks but we all knew this was coming anyway. I am excited to see PK and who goes for us at 133.
That sucks. Wish schools like Cal Baptist could keep guys of that caliber.
There are only 3 starters missing. That’s happened a lot over the years. Hell I think we were short 4 at ISU last season.
I guess it seems like more with 133 and 157 not decided and both appearing to be a drop off from last year. Still, 30% of the lineup seems like a big number to me. Not doubting your memory though.
The season opener last year vs Princeton had Ybarra, Siebrecht, Wilson and Glazier in the starting lineup.

Well, lookie here. The season is actually starting. While it’s not the lineup I’d like to see, I’ll take it. Fun to see some new faces get some mat time. Also helps us understand the strength of our depth.
Well yes but I figured most would have come to grips with this months ago. Rebuilding year and all that. Guess not.

I enjoy seeing some of the backups you might not see the rest of year…..probably see more competitive matches in some cases
