It looks like I get free Apple TV, Hulu, and Netflix...for less than what I was paying for just my 5G through US cellular. Is there a catch? Can I only watch that on my phone or can I connect my TV

Wasn't US Cellular bought by Tmobile? I've been waiting to change phones because I thought maybe there would be addition incentives when the merge is complete. Should I quit waiting?

I'm switching becuase they keep effing my bill up. My phone was supposed to be free last year. Every month I have to go in and they have to contact someone and credit my account. Only reason that I am doing it now...is the free tv, that saves me like 90 bucks a month going in. Plus the rate is cheaper anyway. To you question, yes they were bought by t mobile, but the us cell store can't offer those plans until mid next year.

I just switched to Visible - if Verizon is good in your area you should check it out. Hard to beat IMO with their current special going on or pay for the year once you know you like the service.

I was on Xfinity mobile and this ends up being about the same cost but you get a bit more with this plan. With eSim it makes it so easy to switch now. Oh and use my referral link if you do sign up! https://www.visible.com/get/?3SSC8V3

Good luck. Switched carriers around September 25th. Had to break the old contract with former provider. Supposed to get reimbursed. Met all of the necessary paperwork and got email in short notice of funds approved. It’s November 20th. You can guess the rest.

That is impressive. I'm just thinking that if my overall plan cost is 210, but I save by getting netflix, hulu and apple tv for free, the T mobile may be worth it. Is Paramount plus on hulu?

I don't think Paramount + is on Hulu.

You can log in on TV like normal, not limited to your phone. I'm on a legacy TMobile plan with only Netflix, and I have an upcharge for some version of whatever Netflix plans are out there- like 15 bucks or something? You get the basic bitch packages, but you can still opt up for the commercial free or whatever versions and just pay the difference.

From what I gather, TMobile has really competitive packages. I've had it for ~6 years, and the service is better than ATT and Verizon here in some spots, but otherwise its the same.

For four lines = $200

Pretty sure it is an add on to Hulu. And yeah it just depends on how many lines you have etc on what makes the most sense. You would have to figure it out based on what you want.

Got a 15 bucks per month unlimited everything with Sprint/T Mobile back in 2018. Service has been great. MY bill is $19.96 every month. As long as they don`t mess with my plan I am a customer of theirs for life.

Yes.

The 'catch' is they've been vastly overcharging you for service, for years.
You get "free" Apple/Hulu/Netflix" for one year (which you are actually paying for) that will expire, and then you'll overpay, again.

You'd likely be able to buy the same service for less money, and then just buy Apple/Hulu/Netflix yourself for the same, or less $$.

This is how the Marketing Machine for major cellular companies has evolved over the years: convince you that your service actually costs $60-80 a month, when it's really only $15.

What's the high-speed data limit though?

Anyone will give you "unlimited data"; they just limit how much you get at 5G or 4GLTE speeds. Once you exceed that you get throttled.

50gb of premium data.

"Most unlimited plans give you an amount of data at the start of your bill cycle where you are prioritized higher than customers who are heavy data users. This data is called Premium Data. Once you have used that data, you are prioritized lower than other customers and you may notice lower speeds in times and places with network congestion."

Premium data sounds like a marketing buzzword.

I'd want the fine print of what amount of actual, 5G I'm getting before it is slowed.
Not just "de-prioritized". Most people 10 or 20GB is ample, unless they use their cellular for primary internet or stream a lot away from wifi.

Just another option, I have US Mobile, with 4 lines, it's $25 per line unlimited, taxes included, plus 2 "freebees". They credit back me for Netflix and Apple music, so 2 lines are only $10 with the credits. You can use either Verizon or T-Mobile networks. For speed, I've seen 1G+ in bigger cities.

I’ve been thinking about switching from Verizon to TMobile for a while but can’t pull the trigger. I’ll be monitoring this thread…
Get a RedPocket plan; buy the 3-SIM pack for $10 that has a SIM chip for each network

Switch between networks every month to try them out and see what your coverage is like. Select the one that works best.
RP has decent pricing, but not high-tier data limits like some others (25-30GB/month I think; you can get 50 GB w/ Visible or some others)

Some way better deals out there from the smaller carriers vs the Big 3 if you shop around a bit. All of them are buying bandwidth off the Big 3 networks.

I agree with this, however I work from home so I am on wifi 99% of the time and I never go above 3gb of data in a month. I have no doubt I am giving up something with this plan but i can promise you it is not something I need. The only time I had an issue recently is I made the mistake of going to Columbus to watch the Hawks get their asses kicked and I had not great reception in the stadium.

You could get RedPocket, 4 lines at 20 GB data/month for $90 on a family plan.

Pick which carrier towers you want: AT&T/TMobile/Verizon
Probably even cheaper if you buy an annual plan upfront
I use little to no data, I'm almost always on wifi of some version- home or work. last month I had 3gb of usage total.

The other three- each surpass 40gigs a month. I think one kid uses her phone like a TV< even though she has a TV. The other hotspots her laptop alot. I dunno, a battle I ceded to even though I know - as you point out- there's more competitive pricing.

Since when. If so, :)

If you travel abroad T-mobile is great. Haven't been to a country where I still don't have free texting/data

I looked at them too when I was debating which one to go with. I like the concept of US Mobile though. Total Wireless had a pretty sweet deal going on with 50% off for I think 5 year. But there were way too many horror stories of not getting the deal on reddit where people had to file FCC complaints to get it fixed. It was not worth it to me to risk dealing with that.

Why would anyone use one of the three with how much cheaper you can use an MVNO for? Well, I think it a lot has to do with people buying phones they can't really afford so they can get the 0% financing over 3 years. It does not appear the MVNOs do much of that. Some do a bit or use Affirm but it appears the big three are much more aggressive on give you the brand new iphone or samsung for 'free' in which you overpay for their service for 3 years and if you leave early you have to pay for the phone.

I switched from Verizon to TMobile and have been VERY happy with TMobile. My husband has Verizon and our coverage is very comparable. There are rare times when one service is better than the other and it goes both ways. I will say I have TERRIBLE coverage around Lemars, IA. I do love the international portion of the service.

Edit to add: I think Netflix is the lower quality or maybe ads or such so I pay a few bucks each month to upgrade to premium.
