I don’t get it. You seem like a reasonably intelligent guy.
Why, in your mind, would four years of Trump be good for America? I will grant you border security is a winning issue for Trump. However, if he goes through with his mass deportation plan, then that is going to put a major dent in the American workforce, causing inflation to get worse. So, that’s a wash IMO.
Regardless, why would four years of Trump be good for America?
Well, I assume this question is in good faith. I have attempted to engage other reasonable poster only to have things devolve to the usual hate crap. Not just
@joelbc1, others as well.
Yes, I favor a closed border. We need the workforce I agree. Most all of the Mexican and central American immigrants I have run into are hardworking, have a solid belief system and are family first. Way better than many of my fellow natural born Americans I must say. But we cannot have uncontrolled border crossings and catch and release. We need background checks, controlled rates of immigration, priority for those that have family already here. Kamala will continue the policy of her admin as President. Drugs and crime are crossing and there is a better way. I think Trump ultimately will forcibly deport the criminals but establish an alternate for those that have paid taxes, tried to assimilate etc.
Crime is out of control. Democrats believe that jail and prosecution of violent crimes is wrong. I do not. I'm a
broken windows policy believer. Trump has said he will improve the crime in our cities.
Kamala's foreign policy has been a disaster. I understand though that not all Americans agree on this point. I am for peace thru strength and kicking ass when necessary.
Kamala has said she will expand the SCOTUS. She has said she will get rid of the filibuster. This would be an unmitigated disaster for our politics. She has said he'd pass a national right to abortion. I favor leaving it with the states to decide as I understand that not all Americans believe as I do.
I favor Trumps tax policies. Leaving the current tax law in place and not allowing it to sunset, I believe in not taxing SS benefits below a certain income threshold. Trump hasn't given specifics, but I'd be in favor of not taxing them with AGI of less than 150k/yr combined SS and retirement income. Kamala has made no such proposal.
Kamala is an AI candidate. She isnt 'real'. There is no there, there. But that's the least of my objections.
Lastly, while I find Trump irritating, undisciplined, and prone to narcissism, I do believe that he can still be a better President than Kamala and I am not persuaded by the felon, convicted rapist nonsense so many seem to glom on to as evidence to vote for Kamala. I won't post my objections as they are numerous, and I have posted them prior.
In short, I believe that 4 more years of the last 4 will be detrimental and 4 more years of Trump seems less risky to me.
