Team defense verses team offense

Hawks are 71 right now in kenpom for D efficiency. That's a significant improvement, bordering on respectable.

It's still probably not good enough to make it into the final four barring some incredible luck. For every ten spots they can improve, their chances increase significantly.

It's not that they can't make it with their current position( #71 D efficiency, #2 O efficiency ), but the odds are a lot longer than if they were #41 and #2 respectively.

Iowa football wins because of defense, Iowa basketball in spite of defense.

Over the last 10 years, the team the led the country in made 3 point shots, as averaged anywhere from 10-12 makes a game. It will be interesting to see what Iowa averages this year.

I agree, especially with this group.

Theres just no way to make JBO and Garza good defenders but their O more than makes up for it.

I think next couple years the D will improve dramatically though. Ulis Joe T, CJ and Perkins could be one of the better defensive gaurd groups in the conference. The Murrays and Pat are pretty decent defenders too.

Potential is there with the youngsters ...
