So Iowa’s season would have been better if we would have alternated W’s/L’s and still finished 10-10?

Meh, not so much in basketball. Blow outs happen. I remember everyone being so upset that Purdue kicked are ass in West Lafayette. I said then it wasn’t a bad loss and I think that the season proved me correct.
