With Shaka smart leaving. Any chance Iowa goes after emarion Ellis out of assumption? 6-5 shooting guard? I know the portal is crawling with players, some I think would be great plug and ply right away. (Reavers, Thompson, harrer, butz) which I think could happen. Ellis is a texas commit I think could be a player at Iowa in time.

I think he would follow Shaka to Marquette, but you never know until he makes a public statement sometime in the near future...

Good question. I read his recruiting bio and it seemed like he went from having mid-major interest only to getting on the radar of some P5 teams and TX offered. I didn't see any mention of Iowa in what I read. TX would seem to have a lot of options to choose from, so they something must have registered.

Anyone seen him play? I don't follow high school hoops and hadn't heard of him until someone posted in here that he signed with TX.

Saw him at least 10 times this past year either on stream or in person. Good athletic ability to go with about 6-5 height. Very average shooter from deep (below average looking at stats, although shot looks decent), and a bit turnover prone. Although in fairness he suffered a fracture in his hand and played the later part of the season with his hand protected, which probably affected his handles to some degree.

I think there was a reason he only had mid-major interest before Texas offered out of the blue. I just don't see him as a high major impact player. By comparison, having watched Wieskamp in high school, there is no comparison - Joe was far more skilled.
