20. State Sovereignty: Pursuant to Article 1, Section 1 of the Texas Constitution, the federal
government has impaired our right of local self-government. Therefore, federally mandated legislation
that infringes upon the 10th Amendment rights of Texas shall be ignored, opposed, refused, and
nullified. Texas retains the right to secede from the United States, and the Texas Legislature should be
called upon to pass a referendum consistent thereto and pass the Texas Sovereignty Act as filed in the
88th Legislative regular session as HB 384.

Well, we would be happy to pull all of our defense contracts out of there I guess along with the our national ATC facilities, military bases, etc...We could even build a wall around it.

They can't keep the lights on when the weather changes even slightly. I hope they do leave and a lot of red hats migrate there to enjoy right wing paradise. Backwards dumases won't last a year on their own.

IF this happens (and god, I really hope it does), I'd definitely be interested in building a wall. Especially if we make Texas pay for it.
Nah, just embargos and highway checkpoints. Then pass a law allowing any Texan that wishes join the US to have immediate dual citizenship, and remove military infrastructure.

They will never secede, they’re too used to leaching off the rest of the country.

Is borrowing to fulfill defense contracts and military bases a secret to prosperity?
Is North Korea rich and nobody realized it?


I do find the pettiness in the secession threads notable.
There are some people who always want to inflict some kind of punishment on the people who would fulfill the spirit of the Declaration of Independence and try to organize a better government.

The former Republic of Texas does not have the right to secede. They do have the right to break up into seven states though. I think there’s a decent chance not all of them would be red, either.

It happened in the former Rhodesia. They've all left.
South Africa has also had a high number of farm attacks, including rape and murder.
