They did the onside because their defense is awful and couldn't stop their offense. I disagree on onside but I agree on the pooch kick. Instead of booming it through the end zone like Iowa and many other teams do wish we'd try and kick it inside the 5-10 to back other team up (Kaeding was the king of having high hangin kicks landing inside the 5). Think ISU did that after one of their scores in the 3rd qtr after they got a TD and we had a face mask penalty.

I agree. ISU had a chance to do this against Iowa at a time when, had it been successful, it might have locked up the win. I don't understand why it wasn't tried. The down side is very slight.
