That was not a good ISU team.

This is the only game I've watched them his year so it's a small sample size but they didn't look better than last year. I think they end up a 4 or 5 seed in the tournament.

The over rating of the big 12 will help them. Then when the tourney starts the big 12 will pee down their collective legs for the 4h year in a row.

I don't know know if I agree with any of that or proceeding comments. Time will tell. At this point, I'm more concerned with why a veteran team lacked composure in crunch time and what that means for the rest of the season moving forward.

SHUT UP ISU FANS SAY THEY WILL BE THE OVERALL #1 seed.

If they are a #2 ISU fans will storm the court in protest!

Probably a 20-25 team. Maybe. And they still beat us.

Have you watched Iowa State play this year? Have you seen Iowa play this year? Was this game indicative of either/both? Iowa State is a Top Ten 10 team, with talent recognized as such. Iowa played an extraordinary half of basketball to set a pattern that could not be duplicated. Against lesser teams,......yes.

If you think ISU is top 10, you need to watch a lot more basketball. They're lucky they play in such a weak conference.

Yup, this is exactly right.

I think ISU is a Top 10 team and if not then top 15. They'll only get better with Burton. That said, they could still be third in the Big 12 behind KU and OU. I think Iowa can be a Top 20 team if they continue to get better like I think they will and finish somewhere between 2-4 in the B1G.

One game early in the season shows all you need to see?

Interesting. I assume Vegas is where you are headed.

Have you seen MSU, Purdue, Maryland, and Indiana? My god Iowa will be lucky to be in the top half of that conference. Big is loaded this year and until Iowa players get "tougher" they will lose to all those teams.

How funny is it that ISU can't play an entire season with their roster? Its like they add free agents as the season goes along. That is just strange.

Well they did beat Carolina and will probably win the valley. Iowa was 8-4 going into conference play last season, and Iowa State is still undefeated number 4.
UNI will not win the Valley. ISU has played nobody. Iowa's only hope is that the B1G is finally down a little compared to the last 5 years.

isu is a decent team. Final four or even elite 8 is a joke.

They shot poorly from 3 except for Thomas and Uthoff was out of his mind. They will win games in the same fashion they won last night---by having better athletes who simply make plays. Granted, Big 12 teams will be better equipped to match their athleticism, but as a whole, they are a pretty talented group.

It's interesting that you say that ISU hasn't played anyone. 25% of their wins are against Big10 teams. LOL

Iowa and Illinois are projected to finish #8 and #9 in the Big 10 this year. Congrats to ISU for beating the 8th best team in the Big 10 by 1 point at home! That's magical.

So you do believe Iowa will finish 8th in the conference! Eh Jackie.

ISU looked very talented to me, and I thought this when Iowa was up by 20. Iowa was shooting out of their minds the first half which made ISU look a lot worse than they are. They may not be deep but I'd bet that starting 5 is as good as any in the B1G. Niang is a beast and he's not their only good player. Iowa got beat by a very good team last night, what hurts is how they lost. Iowa literally could not have played a better first half, which is what makes losing so difficult to swallow.

What we do know is that isu is over-rated. Better hope the clowns stay away from Big Ten teams and UAB come March.

Never underestimate Crean finding a way to screw things up. He's even a worse game coach than Fran.
