We took my mom there for her birthday. There was 8 of us. The restaurant wasn't super busy but I'm sure they were understaffed like everyone else.

We waited 2 hours and were told it would be another twenty minutes and they promised they wouldn't kick us out when they closed. Yeah no thanks. For the first time in my life we walked out. I felt bad for the staff but it was just too much for my dad and my brother and I agreed.

The "beaver tail"they serve is worth the wait....so I have been told.

The fact that you sat for 2 hours and then walked seems weird. How far along did you get in the process in 2 hours? Drinks? Apps? Did you order? Did you ask for a manager at any point?

Yeah it was weird. There was no manager. 2 waitresses, 2 cooks that I could see, 1 bartender and 1 kid clearing tables. I would have kept waiting but my dad and brother were pissed.

The thing that gets me is there were only 7 or 8 tables full of people. Unless there grill is tiny, they should have had no problem cooking faster than 2 and a half hours. I've cooked before and I feel confident that I could pretty easily cook 40 to 50 meals in 2 hours. So, I don't know what was going on.

We don't really drink as a family so we all had waters. My mom had one daiquiri. We ordered within 10 minutes of getting there at 5:45. We got our salads about 645 and they forgot one. We had to ask for the last salad at 7 and got it a few minutes later. Then we waited till 745 and decided to leave. They close at 8. It was bizarre.

BWW in Fort Dodge Saturday only had 2 waitresses working 1 bus boy and the gal at the door plus whoever in the kitchen. 45 minute wait to get in the door but food came pretty quick. They said nobody wants to work as they get more at home.

The funny part was the put everyone on top of each other no social distancing at all. I think they did that to help the wait staff. We need to end that extra unemployment crap.

It’s always been odd to me that there isn’t a place to eat worth a shit in Storm Lake.

Except La Juanitas

Wow, you showed a lot of patience in my opinion. I would have never waited for an hour for a salad, especially with the amount of people you're describing being in the restaurant.

I always hear the smoking hereford is good but I haven't tried it.
We have a farm in the Albert City/Rembrandt area and when we go down there it's always ridiculous that you can't find a decent place in Storm Lake or Spencer to eat.

Besides going to La Juas or the Villager for their chicken. But you can't take the landlady to either of those places. And it's too far to drag her up to the Lakes for a nice dinner.

That new resort on Storm Lake is awful to try to get a meal. Maybe Bozwell's but that's it anymore.

Used to really like the Ember's years ago and going to the Cobblestone way back was good too. I'm old
