The Fran Fade

You got swept. And are within one game. Doesn’t say much about Iowa this year either.
I agree, we're not good either. That's exactly what I said too. Yet, here you are... Enjoy the win and the play-in game...

If only the tournament was played in Carver. We'd win some games.

Shooting doesn't travel. Year 13, maybe someday Fran will learn.

This is not a Fran fade. This has been a bad road team all year. Fully expect the Hawks to beat MSU and then Nebbie after losing at Indiana.
Beat MSU and Nebbie???

Yes. I am totally real. The last 2 losses were totally predictable. Anyone that's followed this team should have figured it out by now. It's a good home team and a bad road team.

Afraid Franuary Fade is real. No way Iowa beats MSU with the way they are shooting, defending, and the lack of heart and energy being shown on the court. Then to Indy, that will be ugly. Who the hell knows what Iowa and Nebraska team will show up to play.

They will NOT shoot like that at home and they WILL beat MSU and Nebbie.

C''mon, man. Anyone who has followed this team since Fran's been in charge doesn't need Miss Cleo to know his teams will fade at the end of the regular season. The fade is real. MSU and Indiana will roll them, and Nebraska will come into Carver and run through/over Fran's "defense" like a hot knife through butter.

Beating Nebraska if they lost to MSU and Indiana like i fully expect them to won't do anything for their resume.

Someone please tell me how to make this go away.

My ears are still ringing from all the CLANKING. But seriously ... just brutal.

This team will be fine as long as they don't have to go away from Carver to win in the NCAA.

Honestly, it's baffling. Most of the 6th grade teams playing at Kingdom Hoops this weekend will shoot better from the arc than Iowa does on the road. I don't understand how athletes who have spent so much time working on a specific skill can regress to this degree and be so inconsistent.

Wisconsin can score through contact because they practice against contact. It's also clear they drill every player to be able to back his defender into the paint and score with options. Every guy has really good fundamentals, really good footwork.

Wisconsin can defend because they're committed to it, they're detail-oriented, and they simply don't come out of their stance (or they sit). They don't fall asleep. Sure, they get away with a lot of the grabby/handsy stuff that supposedly (every year) is going to be cleaned up. But they get away with it because they're nearly always in good position.

Whenever Iowa plays Wisconsin, the differences in how the programs are built are so unbelievably stark.

And as an Iowa fan, I hate it. If Fran would just adopt a little bit of the mentality of defense & rebounding are your program's foundations, DEFENSIVE END IS #1 PRIORITY, watch out. Let OFFENSIVE END be #1A.

As long as the foundation remains as built, Iowa will never have success vs teams like Wisconsin. Not unless they just get hot and stay hot.

How do think the maintenance people at the away arenas feel after IOWA shows up and dents the rims to the point of replacing them after games there?
