The Fran Fade

Speaking of fades, how that ISU fade again?

I’m also amused by how the goal posts keep getting moved.

Fran fades in February - that gets debunked.
Fran can’t win in the b10 tournament - Iowa wins it last year
Now we’re on to sweet sixteen - which should be the goal but it depends on other factors as well.

Overall this team is about what I thought they’d be this year, tho I thought the defense would be better.

Yeah. The defense is abysmal everywhere. The offense is better than I thought it would be at home.

5-3 in February
All losses on the road. 2 of the losses...to the #1 and #2 teams in the B1G.

So, what did Fran do wrong tonight? I didn't particularly like Sandfort blowing a kiss to the IU fans, even though they probably deserved it. Need to beat the Huskers and get ready for post season.

Yep another brilliant statement. Maybe you should get a job writing for The Ames Times or the Omaha World Herald...Glad you're as bad at predicting about this stuff as I'm at Vegas betting...BRILLIANT
Oh, by the way how did Izzo coach in the last 3 min. of the ball game?
Ok, after watching the last two games I take back about Kris. He maybe taken in the first round. Good thing I didn't wager on this...

Nit picking but the line up with Josh O, Bowen and Dix was not great. There was nine minutes left in game at that point?
Some Iowa fans remind me of Goldilocks. Fran does a little too much, or a little too little, but his decisions are never quite right. With a 20-pt lead, I am surprised some fans aren't knocking him for not playing the reserves earlier.

"seems to happen every year"

Yes, the fade seemed to be a thing for a while, but not so much the past several years. I'd say it's time to put this to bed.

Next monkey to get off the back is the Sweet 16 thing. That's not all on Fran, though. Alford, Lickliter, and even Davis (except 1999) have had a hand in all of that.

You are the one who asked what Fran did wrong and then you piss and moan when I mention something. Robbie Hummel didn't like that line up either fwiw.

Hmm when have we seen a 13 point lead disappear in about 2 minutes? But a 20 point lead with more than 8 minutes.... obviously that could never happen.

I’d argue that part of the reason for the odd lineup was that Iowa was up 20, and both Kris and Rebraca had 3 fouls. Imo he was trying to steal a few minutes.

Even St. Lute managed to get knocked out of the tourny in the first round a couple of times and failed to make the Sweet Sixteen and couple of others. It seems to be an Iowa curse🤬

And….. it didn’t happen in this game. If you want to equate it with the 2nd biggest comeback…. Well, that’s a you thing. Illannoy blew a 23 point lead against Iowa once…. Why do people remember that? Obviously because it happens pretty frequently….. wait, it doesn’t?
Keep banging the drum

Ever hear of a rhetorical question? I was making fun of all of the big Hawkeye fans who have been railing on Fran even after wins. Not sure if you are one of them. Sorry if you're not.

Lute gagged more than one. Bobby Hansen can tell you about Lute ordering them to call a timeout that he knew that Iowa did not have, resulting in a technical at the end of a tournament game to lose.

It is a curse. The 1980 team, other than Ronnie Lester, was not tremendously talented. The Curse will be around until the last person that remembers the FTs that put us in the FF is dead.
