At the same time, how many Democrats (in the House, in the Senate and in Biden's camp) over the last several months have publicly lied to the American people, saying Biden's mind was sharp and that he was mentally & physically fit for the office of President of the United States?
The truth? That list is long.
Which is why Joe should have decided the second he was declared the winner that 1 term was it for him.
Even if you could get him to admit now that he isn't capable of another 4 years in office and could find a new candidate who isn't Harris, transitioning to a new candidate now isn't easy. I really don't think Joe could just give his entire campaign staff and war-chest to the next candidate.
Now as to who. I really think it should be the governors of the states to the immediate south and north of my own. They have won multiple competitive general elections.

I think the if the really do change horses, it would have to be someone from a huge state and someone young. I would think Newsome might fit the bill.

1. Stay in the race to the bitter end.
2. Resign; making Harris the first female President and improving her chances of leading the ticket after the convention.
3. Withdraw from the race (but remain President).

There is no sugarcoating Biden's performance - it was simply awful. Unfortunately, this could very well be an election game changer. Biden's excellent record speaks for itself. However, it's apparent that going forward Biden should not be the candidate. He's lost it, period. It's time for Jill Biden, his closest advisors, campaign staff, and Dem congressional leaders to step in and conduct an intervention. Biden needs to step down and be replaced immediately.

Tough one. If big hitters like Obama and Clinton ask Biden to step aside, he listens. If there's a strong surge of pressure that doesn't quickly recede, he probably listens.
