It's hilarious to me how Republicans suddenly hate the Cheney's for being warhawks acting like they didn't support all that shit and accused anyone who didn't support it of hating America.
Those same people were almost certainly on here talking about how we wouldn't be able to fight in a real war because we were too upset about the 7,000 US soldiers killed in Iraq and Afganistan.
Now Liz Cheney turns on their cult because Trump sounds like a dictator and they are all like "you know she was a warhawk". Yeah and so were you and about 60% of this country.
Freaking liars . . . pisses me off how many people who arn't even politicians lie about their support for that war. I'm guessing if Trump goes out of fashion too in 20 years they will all be telling people they were Harris supporters or voted for the libertarian.
It's getting to the point where half the country opposes the Dem's policies at the moment but 20 years later they will tell you they supported those policies. Gay marriage is the same freaking way. You talk to people who are lifelong Republicans and they will tell you they supported Gay Marriage before Obama did.
So in all honesty let me just say this. I supported the initial military action into Afganistan but opposed the initial Iraq war because they were unrelated to terrorism. After the invasion happened I did not call for us to withdraw because I figured we already started the war, we can't just stop now and maybe we can accomplish some good while we are there. So I wasn't always a full throated opponent of the war because while I didn't think it was worth it going in, I felt like we needed to finish what we started. At some point though it sort of felt like we would have to be propping at least Afganistan up forever.
On gay marriage, it took me a long time to get behind that. Sometime before the Dobbs decision I sort of came to the feeling that it probably wasn't going to matter much if we allowed it so I was ok with it when it happened. But even when I became ok with it I really just didn't care that much either way. A person's stance on that issue wasn't going to change my vote.
