You are one bitter, lonely little man. You've been doing nothing but hanging out on this board since the beating yesterday, talking trash and giving backhanded compliments to Iowa. How many more digs do you possibly have regarding Purdue and KF's contract? I know that's all the material you have right now, but it's growing old. Bown W-L records lack meaning, for the most part. Some years, you overachieve to some degree and end up pitted against a very top-tier opponent with poor odds of getting a win. Other years, you underachieve (I'd count this season in that category) and end up in a lesser bowl game against a lesser opponent where the odds of a win are much greater.

I'll watch the bowl game, but I'm more interested in the kind of success we have during the regular season that determines our bowl placement. We could go 7-5 on a regular basis and face mediocre teams in bowl games with a pretty good chance of winning them. In such a scenario, we might even have won our last 6 or so bowl games in a row. What does that mean? Not much -- just that we didn't perform well enough during the regular season to earn a prestigious bowl game against an elite opponent.

I'd rather have great success in the regular season and possibly take some lumps in bowl games than play in lower-tier bowl games and have a better bowl record. Of course, I'd rather go undefeated every year and win national titles every year in an ideal scenario, but if forced to choose between higher-level bowl games with a lesser bowl record and lower-tier bowl games with a better bowl record, I'd take the former every time.

And if there's one thing I know about off seasons, it sure's hell is better for a fan base when you win your bowl game.

The word on the street is it will either be the Music
City Bowl in Nashville, the Pin Stripe Bowl in Yankee
Stadium or the Foster Farm Bowl in California. We
will know on Sunday, December 3.

If 3 B1G teams are in the New Year's Six,
that leaves Michigan/Michigan State/Northwestern in the
Outback/Holiday/Music City.

As much as I'd love for it to be Music City (trust me, the Nashville Sports Committee would love Iowa), it ain't happening, this year.
It looks like Pinstripe vs Louisville/BC/Florida State or
Foster Farms vs Pac 12.

I don't know about UCLA. Even though they fired their coach, they seem pretty good. Oregon I could see, although they are currently up 52-7 over Oregon State AT THE HALF! Playing them on the West Coast, I don't know, possible recipe for getting boatraced by a 7-5 PAC12 team. Florida State is a nice idea. They need to win their makeup game against some nobody school next week to get bowl eligible. I guess that could be a Pinstripe Bowl matchup. I'd take that game this year. I think.
