It just crossed my mind how this regular season's final game could not have been written better. Just think, we have the opportunity to end a perfect 12-0 season in the stadium of one of our biggest rivals, AND...... Keep them from going to a bowl. How could it be better?!!!!!

Would be better if Nebraska was actually good, and we were playing for the CCG.

I like where your head is at. The only caveat/addendum I'd add is that it's looking somewhat likely that some 5-7 teams qualify for bowls this season, and it's been said Nebraska is top on the list for priority. With that in mind, Nebraska may end up with a bowl bid despite a losing record. If anything, that would make our win even better, as even a bowl win keeps them with a losing record, while a loss gets them to a nice round 8 losses on the year.

So let's give them number 7 and hope that somebody else can get a shot at providing number 8. :)

I chuckled when I read your comment. Not because you're wrong, you're not. I chuckled because I think some of their fans actually think they are still good. At least good enough to beat us on Friday.

"Best 5 loss team in the country," is what I've heard :)

You have a point. But then this thought crossed my mind: Would a "TRUE" blue blood accept a bowl offer for a 5-7 season?

Yes, because even if the fans would turn up their noses, the athletic department and coaching staff wouldn't turn it away. The extra practices alone are seen as quite valuable.

I'll just take a win. The only greedy thing I'd ask for is a comfortable one unlike the last few weeks have felt.
