Looked like 38 pushing Peavy away from from Iowa back so he could get up. I would not call that a terrible hit by any means.
I think it was the right call... it appears to me that #75 reaches his hand out and touches #94...
the odd part was the delay in the call... makes me wonder if there was communication from the booth.

Thanks. Looks to me like a bang bang play. That usually isn't called interference. If you notice, Butler didn't protest. Slowing it down makes it look worse.
B12 refs did all they could to keep them in the game with bad spots, bad penalties, and no calls. Actually reminded me of a New England Patriots game.
Just to be clear, I thought they changed the rule this year, and now you don’t have to look back for the ball any longer. Obviously this play was still a plenty for the contact, especially to the face, but my understanding is they can now face guard as long as there’s no illegal contact.
Someone just requested this one but deleted their post. Anyway, good find on what looks like a punch by 10 on Young (look above Wirfs). Guess it could have been to the shoulder but Toren's head looks like it moves quite a bit.

I didn't call it a terrible hit. I was pointing out that it looks like the first extracurricular contact after the play was instigated by an Iowa player. But there's no way to tell what might have been going on under the pile.
