I'd like to think Iowa is better than that, but the past 2 election cycles have shown otherwise. The tail (the west & small towns) wags the dog (the east & larger metros).

I never said that the Bible Belt was full of Christians. I don't consider Southern Baptists Christians. It's a cult, not a religion.
You my friend need to stop, take a look at yourself and move on. Don't blame racism for everything even though it is obvious that is your default position. Why not realize the left is moving way to fast to the socialist agenda for most Americans, it has nothing to do with race.

You're aware that not all people who voted for Trump are racists, right? ...much in the same way not all who voted for Biden are socialists. You're clearly part of the problem. Be better.
There are racist people everywhere. I was born in PA and most of my extended family still lives there. Some of the more racist people I've ever encountered live there. With that said, part of the culture shock for me when I moved from the Florida Keys to "the south" was how open some people were with racist views whereas in other areas of the country they might whisper their racist comments or look around first to make sure nobody was listening.
I also feel the need to say that not all republicans (or Trump supporters) are racist. Believing all (or even most) southern people are racist or that all Trump supporters are racist is just another form of bigotry.

South sure seems to love flying the confederate battle flag which has symbolized oppression of black people for 150 years.
Maybe it's time we get over that then,.. A symbol can only be oppressive if you allow yourself to be oppressed by it,.. Today, most people see the confederate flag as little more than a redneck tailgate banner...
No. I see it as a symbol of a war in which Iowa lost more men per capita than any state. We literally have war dead in our cemeteries all over the state and rednecks here fly that flag....Its beyond disrespectful. Its akin to flying the Nazi flag at Arlington.

At some point you simply have to let people move on,.. I'm a Catholic, I've traveled to Rome and visited the Colosseum where many of my kind were executed for public entertainment,.. Had a great time, Italians are nice and the food was fantastic,.. get over it.
A better comparison would be if the Romans had executed your grandparents and were still an ongoing problem for you today.
