Won't comment on the video, but will say that I'm really excited to have Kemerer as a Hawk. Great kid and a stud on the mat. Seems like a really easy-going young man who has a lot of FUN on and off the mat, too. Imagine that.
Are we trying to make fun of a high school kid using a video asking his date to Prom? Not trying to be holier than thou, but wouldn't mind seeing this thread deleted.
I was hoping Stroker would come to Iowa. He's a good wrestler and wrestled HS here and its good to keep the home kids here. I was happy we got Kem - I think he is the better of that trio (these two and Joseph) So it all worked out.

Oh how mean of me to comment on a video that he put on the internet. It was a joke. Please send me to the guidance counselor and send my employees and I to Michael Scott's sensitivity training.
If I saw him I would ask him if she said yes. I'm sure none of his college buddies have given him crap about it.
I can't seem to find it now but there was a YouTube video of Paul Rhoades son asking Fred Hoiberg's daughter to prom. I don't know if it went through the meaness protocol but that did make it's way onto a message board.

If you let a video like that get out, you should be expecting some serious ribbing. As long as everyone stays civil on here and doesn't hit below the belt, I don't see anything wrong with it. Also, why would you want to be at a playground with little girls playing in the background to ask a girl out to prom? Considering that and the fact that he may be color blind since his clothes don't match, wouldn't a girl be a little worried to go to prom with him? Did she say yes?
Yeah, I'm good with not mocking a teenager for the way he decided to ask a girl to prom. It's not like it's your buddy of 30 years or a professional athlete. He's a kid, and he was REALLY a kid back then.

Regardless of that ridiculous video, the OP is absolutely correct... The kid was at Brothers Saturday night of B1Gs drunker than $700 acting like a complete jackass. That's a fact.
Unless he was a 20 year old senior in high school I'd suspect so.
What a college kid drinking? No way. I've never heard Freddy say a bad word about anyone. Seems like a total family kid. Would have been thrilled to have him as a hawk.
I get what your saying but there's been plenty of current and former hawkeye greats that have been pretty smashed at brothers and sports column during their rs year (and even after). I'm glad we got kem because he's going to be a stud though.

Like I said, not trying to call out the OP on this, just saying sometimes stuff like joking around about where a HS wrestler is getting married and doing so for weeks on end, and posting stuff like this video, seems a little creepy to me, and in the case of a potential recruit, sure does not seem like it would be helping our cause any.

I guess this was just an epic fail in my part. It was a joke. Someone posted the link on Facebook and I thought it was funny. I think a lot of YouTube videos are funny.
Im not attacking a kid. I simply posted a video someone else shared. I didn't think it would come down to me talking about where kids are getting married. I guess I could have just shared it on Facebook and called it a day.
My title was a joke. I think it's safe to assume that TnT don't make decisions based on YouTube videos or how someone asks a chick to prom.
I did hear about his good time at brothers but didn't want to put the kid on blast. I really don't care how hard a kid boozes. Granted it was pretty dumb doing it close to his hometown underage. I'm sure we'll see where he's at in a couple weeks at UWW juniors.

Something I just remembered...how is Stroker at a bar when he had a house full of high school kids staying with him in Bettendorf that weekend. Wasn't Gable and Bobby Steveson, and Roman Bravo Young with him? I think RBY got a workout in with our own Jack Wagner that Sunday morning. Not saying it couldn't happen but ole Fredy would be a damned rude host ditching his Dad and friends to stay in IC to party.

Not me...I never got drunk and did stupid stuff like urinate on an ATM, get in fights for no good reason at all, or walked into the nearest restaurant so my buddy could yak in a garbage can in plain view of all the diners. The kid is an extremely high profile local wrestler that actually had something to say about this board. I see nothing wrong with a little, kindhearted fun about a harmless video. Nothing I read in this topic really got personal. I told him to add some moves to his arsenal because he was too 1 dimensional and hoped he didn't wrestle that way. I also gave him some advice about color coordination and proper set location.
In the end, anything said on here would never compare to what has already been said about him during the recruiting process and I am sure he will be dragged through the mud a TON over the next 4 wrestling seasons. Either way, I said all I was going to say about the video so my part in it has concluded.

What's the overall fascination with Stroker? I don't get it. The kid is not and will not be wearing the black and gold ... so ...

Yeah, but I long for the days when a kid just asked the girl to the prom, in private hopefully, as well as asking a girl to marry did not mean a public spectacle. Old fuddy duddy, yeah. In judging this particular video I'd say it's a bit long.
Kemmerer wins hands down over Stroker as Stroker's extra curricular activities are going to catch up with him. Kemmerer was a much better recruit. Great young man!

I don't know but we have two or three Stroker threads a year. Amen on the smartphones thing...holy hell the trouble I would have been in.
All I know Gable Stevensen was at big tens. I talked with him personally and had a HWC wrestling shirt on and kidded him about you must come to Gable's club. He seemed like a great kid.
