"They can't guard me!"

In the zone. No doubt those shots were going in.

It's rare moments when Hawkeyes completely take games over. We're getting spoiled with having RDM and White two years in a row.

Could see that being Uthoff next year. A guy can dream anyway.

It started when he hit a jumper late in the 1st half early 2nd. As soon as I see White knock in a jumper from the outside, I know he's gonna go off. He's a completely different player, a legitimately unguardable player, when he can knock down a shot and make you respect his outside game. That's gonna be key Sunday, If I was Fran, I'd be scheming a way to get White a good look in rhythmn early Sunday and it doesn't have to be from the arc. 15 feet and out. When he knocks it in, you'll see his demeanor and body language change. That's the been the story of the last 10 games or so for this team. White has absolutely elevated his game to a big time level and it's because of his shooting.

Me too the Zags size could prove troublesome for our post game. Iowa will need to get their mid range and long range shots going.

I thought Uthoff had a decent game. He was 2 points and a rebound from a double double. He didn't shoot particularly great but, White stole the show in the second half. Jarrod hit a couple contested fadeaways which is part of his game but, missed a couple of wide open 3's I thought were going in. His defense and rebounding down the stretch was really encouraging. I think the whole team played with that killer instinct and that were not ready to go home attitude. Sunday should be fun.

I think our length will bother Gonzaga more than the other way around. We play against length every game out in the B1G. Gonzaga doesn't see lenght like us at all in the back half of their season. Uthoff is a 6'9" SF, and I guarantee Gonzaga doesn't see that. I think White is absolutely locked in right now and Gonzaga doesn't own the answer to him. Just my opinion but I think he'll put up another solid game. But I do think it comes down to the play of guys like Mike Gesell, Olaseni, Jok'Oglesby. What can we get out of those 4 guys? Can Gesell lock in defensively against Pangos? He's seen more talented PGs in Trimble and Russell, but Pangos is a different kind of player. Gotta lock in. Can Woody and Olaseni offset their bigs or even outperform their bigs? Olaseni should have some advantages athletically if he can stay within himself. And what an we get from Jok/Oglesby? How do they shoot the ball? Can they keep us balanced offensively?

I feel good about this game. I thought if we beat Davidson, we'd roll right on through to the Sweet 16. For me, it's about mindset and confidence with this group. I was worried about their response after the Penn State game and they responded beautifully. I have a good feeling about Sunday with where this team is at mentally.

I was thinking the same thing. Can Gesell lock onto Pangos or will sapp lock him down. If Gesell keeps up the same body of work its hard to put him on the bench. With the zags size i think it will be hard to go with both Sapp and Mike at the same time. But this is why Fran makes the money and we just sit here and speculate.

9 for 26 his last two games. So many looked good but didn't fall. If he can get hot, we will be that much more dangerous.

White has been very good lately about not shooting a 3 early in the shot clock. He will pass those up, but if he gets another look with 15 seconds left or so he is willing to let it go, and I think the fact that he feels less self conscious about it in that situation has made those shots more likely to go in. Earlier in the year he would shoot some early in the clock.

When he was starting to get in the zone last night he was calling for the ball down low. Didn't get it. He then ventured to the perimeter and and nailed a catch/shoot three. Loved that confidence.

This. It would be great if they stack up against White because of Friday and then Uthoff goes off.

I am just hoping Gonzaga doesn't shoot their average.

It doesn't matter who they play, they seem to be able to outscore anybody.

Even teams that shoot lights out against them, they still outscore in the end.

We will need to be on fire offensively and couple that was a defensive effort that somehow slows them down.

If we revert back to OUR average shooting the ball, we are going to have a very hard time keeping up.

Essentially, they are a mirror of our team in a lot of ways, they just the shoot the ball a lot better on average, starting with their PG.
