*****Minn-Duluth vs Iowa Game Thread*****

Seems like you are jumping to conclusions. I still believe the defense will be better this year, although it couldn't be much worse than last year, at least on the interior. Last night was not impressive, although Dix continues to be very good on both ends and Pryce seems ready to play a bigger role. I still think Traore and Thelwell were solid pick ups, given Iowa's NIL situation. You wouldn't know it from the game, but I am still hopeful that both will make positive contributions. We really won't know what we have until we have played a few more games and then play a power conference team.
The women went out against a D2 team and put the smack down on a team after losing possibly the best college player ever. And looked like they didn’t lose a step. And the Freshmen all played and looked really good. It’s not to much to expect your transfers to get good minutes in an exhibition game. Thats what it’s for. We know what Dix, Freeman and Sandfort can do. Give your other guys the opportunity.

Yeah, I thought Traore looked promising but he didn’t get much playing time. I am disappointed that he appears shorter than advertised. Thelwell didn’t get enough time to really make a judgement. I don’t understand why Fran didn’t give him more minutes. It was really strange when Fran said he forgot to put Tadjo in the game. He should have gotten 8-10 minutes, same with Mulvey. These guys need to play against someone else besides their teammates. I did think Koch looked good. Brock’s passing and shooting was poor in this game. He needs to be better and we better hope Thelwell turns out to be good. As I expected we didn’t rebound well, except for Freeman. When he has to sit somebody better step up and hit the glass.

Not sure why you are replying to me with something I also basically said in other posts. Fran should have played the new guys more, I do think the Minn D is a better team than some of you guys think, but finding out what the new guys can contribute was a lot more important than the margin of victory.
