This is not Fran’s worst lost

I haven’t watched the game. I did look at the box score but minutes weren’t listed. Was Nunge hurt/benched early? 0 points and 0 rebounds out of a 6’11” forward is not a winning recipe. They miss Cook, big time.

JoeW won't be leaving to NBA early if he doesn't show more than he did vs Depaul. Really a non factor. Garza got stuffed vs more athletic defenders.

This team looked pretty bad. MIght be the worst since Fran's 1st year if they play like this.

Perfect storm tonight. Unmotivated team against a better than average athletic team of castaways. We couldn’t hit the bottom of the ocean and they seemingly couldn’t miss. Turned the ball over a ton and waited far too long to match their defensive aggression. A deserved loss but hopefully a learning moment for the boys.
I hope it was the difference of it being Iowa’s second game of the season while it was the fourth for DePaul.

Nunge was quickly benched due to performance.

Not even close. Campbell. Nebraska Omaha. South Dakota?

We’ve suffered a lot in the Fran era.

This actually gives me hope by reminding me that one game does not make a season. The Campbell loss in particular, a much better team than they were given credit for that came in with a chip on their shoulders. I think DePaul is a very solid team that had the benefit of having senior leadership with 3 games under their belt this season.

I’m not saying this loss wasn’t bad or that I’m not concerned. But the season is young.

Depaul has played more which showed but it didn't really make any difference in the outcome. I could write this game off as a loss to a well coached, more athletic team but I didn't think we looked that good in the first game either. We should just played a weak team. This team doesn't look good on offense. That spells trouble with a Fran coached team which aside from the early Woodbury years rarely plays good defense. Point guard remains a looming concern for this team IMO.

One of the few bright moments for Coach McCaffery's game management last night. He can further that by telling Jack that it is time to put your name in the transfer portal.
